This is the oldest Avenger leg press that I have seen. I haven't seen this exact design in any pictures except from the original catalog. For all I know, this could be the only one like it in existence.
This design differs from the later design in 4 ways.
1) The main boom has 3 weight horns. Rare!!!!! New design has 2. There were women's leg presses made with just 1.
2)Main boom rest is a simple flip up lever.
3)Seat design is has a different front to back adjustment. This one is hard plastic to plastic slide held with a pop pin in the horizontal square tube. New design rides on bearings with a large lever adjustment.
4)Shoulder restraint up/down adjustment is on 1 square tube held with a pop pin. New design has 2 round guide rods and bushings instead of the square tube. Same pop pin adjustment.
So fricking cool.

Here are a couple items I picked up over the weekend and the cost of each in case anyone is interested.
Smith Machine/bench - $580
Power Rack - $345
Crossover Machine - $428
Dumbbells/rack - $966
Grand total around $2300...going to sell the smith machine and hex dumbbells to offset this price. Once all is said and done im hoping to bring the total price down to $1300 worst case scenario. I dont think thats out of line for a power rack, crossover machine, dumbbells, and a bench.

Nice cybex gym you got there.

Nice additions, you can't beat commercial equipment in a home gym. I've always like Cybex .

I think it's a great deal. Equipment is top notch by anyone's standard and pricing, regardless of offset you manage to get, is excellent. I'm not as plugged in as others but I don't think one can do better within a 'lottery win' type situation.

not sure what area you are in, but dumbbells in the bay area go for a pretty penny. you could easily get upwards of $1,5oo for the dbs alone. (not sure the sets you have but it looks like 5 to 100 prostyle and several hex ?)

Im only looking to sell the hex dumbbells. They go from 5lbs to 100lbs (100's arent pictured)...but they're not in 5lb increments. I know theres 100, 80, 70(ivanko brand, kinda random), 65, 60, etc etc. Kinda jumps around a little. I still think I can get around .50-.60 cents/lb.

Tipsy. Sweet pickup. 'Vanko's look in really good shape. Where you been? Last I remember you were refurbing something. I was afraid you inhaled too much toxic cleaners.

haha thanks. I was going to redo a bench pad for a NL stealth bench I picked up. I just started a new job and have been crazy busy with that and a cousins wedding going on so its been hectic to say the least.
Ive decided for this next set I am going bare steel (when I get the time that is) ... I ended up leaving one from the last batch like that and its showing 0 surface rust in my basement and you just cant beat that look IMO

I think I was just really focused on picking up those ivanko deep dish plates ... but I think the york single will clean up nicely. The plan was to sell that plate a long with some of my others to fund this purchase, but I kind of like this one now :P

I use photobucket. I think it is very easy to use. They give you a ton of free storage and multiple links depending on where you want to share the pic. You guys that use Imgur are killing me. For some reason my work blocks that site. So when Imgur pics are embedded and I am surfing BB.com at work, I have to pull up up the thread on my iPhone and click on the attachment from there if I want to see the pic.

Interesting. Imgur pics load fine on my phone while photobucket images load extremely slow, so i'll often just skip the pics if I can see that they're on photobucket.

Been thinking about picking up a TDB for a while now, and finally bit the bullet. EliteFTS is having a sale on them this weekend, and at $378 shipped it was hard to pass up. I have a small, local meet planned for December, and it'll be nice to train on the bar leading up to it.

Is the conventional wisdom around here to soak the plates in 50/50 water/vinegar and hand wire brush to get the rust off? I want to preserve as much as I can of the paint as they are actually in pretty good shape
Last time I did this I used paint stripper to get it done, but it didnt really do much and i wire brushed everything

I tried a bunch of different methods as of late. I liked the vinegar the least. And I used it full strength. CLR breaks up the rust really good. You can use full strength or dilute. The more you dilute, the longer you need to let soak.
But looking at you plates, there's no rust on those Ivankos. The brown rim is aged patina. If your intention is to strip down to bare metal, go right to the wire wheel.

Yes. Photobucket is absolutely slower on the iPhone than Imgur. I agree. I was commenting on how my Computer's firewall at work blocks Imgur but not Photobucket. So i don't see embedded pics at work from Imgur. My issue is really with my employer's firewall.

As always, I appreciate it man.
I think I might try to just clean them up a bit and see how they look... a couple of the plates look really good but some are worse than others.

I think you are probably as OCD as me. Meaning you aren't gonna be happy if you see a speck of oxidation. LOL. Here's a little progression on one of the worst set of plates I ever worked on:
In order of steps:
1. original condition

2. after CLR bath, but "flash rust" once it dries

3. After Wire Wheel

4. After wipe down with Mineral Spirits

5. Painted
