There is no special requirement because you aren't that old!
Perhaps you have to be a little more cautious when starting and slowly ramp up the weights and effort levels. And perhaps you need to learn to deal with imbalances and inflexible muscles. Apart from that, any novice routine like All Pros SBR or Fierce 5 in the workout programs forum (at the top of the page in the sticky threads) will be fine.
I'm pushing 50 and am stronger and leaner than I was at 18...

Same here (only 40) - we're like a fine wine, getting better with age :-)

I'm 50 and I'd be pretty miffed if that was all I was doing.
