Need suits
Hello everybody, I Need to buy suits, I am 5.4 and weigh 200 pounds. The problem is the width and the chest. Any advice ? I usually buy xl and modify them, but they don't fit right. I powerlift and have massive thighs, chest and shoulders. Sorry if i am in the wrong section. All comments welcome.

Get on vacation, say, to Bangkok. there are tons of "Armani Suits" tailors, they will stitch one for you relatively inexpensively, while you get your tan and muay thai conditioning training. Combine business with pleasure, even with airline tickets and all expenses in, you will be ahead financially.

If you are out in Thailand anyway, give it a try but I've seen several people do that and the tailor shipped them the suit a couple of weeks later and it was a pretty mediocre suit - I'm sure it was an off the peg suit that has been altered and not bespoke (from scratch) tailoring like they were told it would be. Also there is a flaw to the plan... When you receive it and want a last adjustment, how do you do that as you're no longer in Thailand?

yeah. You are right, bad plan. But, at OP's stats, he is quite a frame, it will have to be a custom made suit. Maybe down south somewhere, Salinas, Ecuador for example. Or, God forbid, Chile? I would go straight to Santiago, big city must be tons of tailors there.

Suits don't go by S,M,L,XL. You need a chest and waist measurement. You best bet is to go to some tux rental place and have them take your measurement like you'd be renting a tux. Once you know what size you need, then go shopping.
Chances are that it will be challenging. Most suits are made with a 6-7 inch drop. The "drop" is the difference between your chest size and your waist size. This makes it challenging because it's tough to find suits made for athletes. The drop tends to be much more significant. Drops of 10-12" are common for athletes and weight lifters. That's going to make it tough to find a suit. That's the reason many people here will recommend getting one custom made. It may be the only way to get one that fits.
