Trying Palmetto Blueberry Backtrack Hefeweizen. I usually don't do fruit beers, but the gf picked it up for me. Pretty ok stuff. The blueberry is barely noticable instead of being way too heavy like a lot of brewers tend to do.
lol floridaman.....
And I'll try er out. The GF's uncle lives damn close to Wilmington and we still having visited them yet (mainly because I hate the beach and that stupid shyt) but now it looks like I have a reason to go.
You get some NA yet??? Drank this piney bish yesterday. From floridaman..;)
And it’s good but not even their best. Which is 99% better than everyone else.

This one is weird. It is a gimmicky beer, but just weird. I rarely buy the cookie butter at Trader Joe's.

Local stout. This one was great.

This past month, I have really enjoyed hitting up some local breweries. Tons of great stouts, sours and ipas. Many completely unfiltered

Nope, no new anthem yet. No good beer stores around here but I'll hit up some joints tomorrow and Sunday.

Update: Went up to Winston Salem yesterday to visit a friend and he recommended this bottle shop. Bought all of their Tilquin except the pinot gris one, and they also had 7 or 8 different New Anthem IPAs and a Grimm IPA. Drank the Grimm IPA last night that was fukkin stellar. Will get into those NA IPAs today ish I imagine.

There are tons of good beer stores near you. Tasty Beverage in downtown Raleigh and the owner Johnny is cool. Bottle Revolutions are all good with the Lake Boone location getting the best sh!t. BR 3 gets some rare ones too. BottleMix is decent and will surprise with some rare ones that are hard to find.
Find High Branch as well. Resident Culture is the guy that helped Russian River brew amazing beers. Get them. Funguys, etc you are in a beer mecca. Grimm is decent but all of these guys are better.

Ya I had a Res Culture once, I forget what when and how it was honestly. I still want to hit up Funguys, never heard of High Branch. Friend in Winston Salem says that NA isn't all that good to him, lol, so we'll see how it goes. He and I seem to have very similar palates (except for Burial IPAs) so I'll def let you guys know.

If you get up to Graham, check out Unforgotten Road. The owner/brewer is a marine and him and his wife are great to talk to. He doesn’t make thick intense hoppy ipas like New Anthem but he makes killer citrusy ones more like Modern Times or Pipeworks.

New Anthem is definitely the best brewery for haze in NC if not the entire country. You're gonna love it, and the stuff Funguys does is super legit

I finally got a couple bros that will send me NA. I have a King Of Nothing 3 coming. Last editions before this years was very good. The one guy has been trying to get me a 4pk of Shade. Any doubles I’ll save you one for sure.

Call me crazy but this week I’m chasing the elusive 100% Brettanomyces fermentation and I’m brewing a gnarly Pale Ale on my Anvil Foundry 6.5 gallon brewing system. Last time I tried this it didn’t work out super well and that’s because not all strains of Brett are able to fully attenuate wort. This time I made sure to choose the perfect strain and I’m taking advantage of some research conducted by White Labs.
see here how I did it

Brewing an APA with 100% brett? You're gonna have a bad time bro.

I was grocery shopping this morning and the store had a display of Not Your Father's Root Beer. I forgot all about that stuff. I didn't even know they still make it. That stuff is diabetes in a bottle.

Do Brewdog distribute in the US? They’ve got some really nice beers and have launched quite a few recently. I’ve got their Mallow Laser Quest ready to go when I get my smell and taste back, it’s a 6% IPA with pineapple, sherbet and sweet fruits. I had one just before losing my taste and it was lovely.

LOL damn, I remember when you couldn't even buy that shyt in stores it would sell out so fast. But ya, I forgot about it; can't remember the last time I've even seen them either.

Yes, they SUCK. They opened a huge brewery in Columbus, Ohio and a good friend's fiance works for them in distribution or something, so I always talk shyt as much as I can.

This.

Yikes, I can only imagine there’s a difference between what they’re trotting out here and what’s being served up over there.
Some of their stuff isn’t great but their dead horse IPA is great

You have to come to the states to experience a good IPA. Were big on hops, and low on malts

I'm wondering if they brought it back to compete with the hard seltzer crowd.
People that want to drink beer, but aren't drinking beer.

A couple years ago, Brewdog released this 6pk of their top beers distributed everywhere. I remember getting excited to finally trying them and being let down. Every can absolutely sucked. Tasted of malty garbage. It’s almost like they think the US has a sh!tty palate.
Recent stouts/porters I grabbed

Shame you can't get your hands on some quality US IPAs because you'd likely laugh at the stuff you're drinking...
Although, there's nothing wrong with liking shytty beer either. I sometimes wish I only drank Bud/Miller/Coors as then it would lower my expenditures and lower my calories.
You have to come to the states to experience a good IPA. Were big on hops, and low on malts
I think utilization of hops too with most haze brewers starting first hopping at flameout whereas "traditional" IPA brewers use continuous hopping which sets you up for insane bitterness...

Good rationale. It's possible. I feel most people either want shyt that tastes like soda (Not Fathers crap, mead, pastry stouts, pastry sours/smoothies) or want flavored boozewater (stupid seltzer shyt).

Is it dumb to wear a shirt of the brewery that you visit?
I went to a couple breweries with my brother today and someone was wearing a shirt of the brewery we were at. I thought it was the dumbest thing ever I don't know why lol. If I was the beertender/server at a brewery, I think it would be cooler to see customers wear shirts of other breweries.
-
Wife and I went to southern IL for a 4 days of hiking in Shawnee national forest and decided to swing by Scratch Brewing. Really interesting place and loved the beers I had. It was nice to see a brewery not just following the stereotypical styles and trends and do them very well.

I would never buy a shirt with a breweries name on it. Beer glass all day long but not a shirt. I have a few that were a part of releases etc but I have never worn them. Not even to workout in.

Three Floyds Gumballhead has become one of my favorite IPAs, perfect for a warm sunny day with the lighter body. So good

I love Hazy IPA's, but they are way over-saturated right now.
Random question, but how is it professionally spelled: oversaturated, over-saturated, or over satured?

You should see how saturated the haze market is here in Chicago. 75% of them are way below average
