i dont usually share much - and photo bombing your thread was just for you - it is gorgeous here - there are drawbacks to everything - but mostly its all good here. we are expecting an early snow tonight!!!
last night was crazy pretty tho - all those colors in one sky at one time. our sunrises are gorgeous too - but they are prettiest during the fire season - so dull ones are better, i guess.
do you live near the water in NJ/NY?
The cultural appropriation argument is a unique obsession we have in the United States. I have found that people from those cultures who we've supposedly "appropriated" aren't nearly as offended as people born in the US who have no real connection to that culture. A few years ago, there was white girl in the news because she wore a qipao (Chinese traditional dress) to the prom. Of course, the usual suspects were outraged at the "cultural appropriation" as were many Chinese academics and students. The catch? The most vocal critics were born and educated in the United States. Chinese people who were actually from China thought the hysteria surrounding it was ridiculous, and found it flattering that a person outside of their culture could appreciate its unique aesthetics.
Though your language is unnecessarily argumentative, you make a good point.
I work with Indian Tribes that really don't care for the term "Native Americans."

I don't care what anybody says post in my threads, I respond to what's relevant and to the folks I know are genuine with thiers post. You say photo bombing my thread, I just see a beautiful site regardless if is relevant to the OP.
I live in the North Bronx, I am roughly 10 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from houses by water fronts, but the view is nothing like what you posted.
I want tranquility in my life so badly.

then i'll share with you when i have something cool for you to see!
i understand on the tranquility- that's why i love the mountains and the water. i have family from NJ/NY - only been in the city twice when i was younger - and the last thing i would describe it as is tranquil :(
however - i do think it would amazing to be able to walk into a dark restaurant or bar and fade into the darkness and ppl watch - like actual darkness and no one knowing you....but only on a vacation - always want to come home to mountains and space....

There seems to be a woman on Internet? We don't get them very often so we're appreciating every second.

sure i can do that - i used to specifically avoid doxing myself - some of mine are in some published places and could be recognized by the tat crowd (won a few nationals with them).
that NY offer is sick - i would totally - told the hubs yesterday actually that we should take an east coast trip soon - like a week in the city and a week or two just eastern seaboard. lots of family and extended family up there - so i know it would be a blast!!!
we tend to not travel where our guns aren't welcomed - and likewise have genuine medical reasons not be in a place that doesn't understand antibodies. i have no desire to talk politics on this thread - so no need to get into it - but need to wait until the tyranny calms a bit.
def wanna do it before the youngest is out of the house tho...he's changing a bit now - but as a youngster - he used to wear all NYC hats, shirts - he totally repped the city he's never been too - which i think is awesome - i want him to experience all walks of life - domestic and international
-
I think these look very nice and hope the whole thing turns out well. I could imagine doing something similar but would want it to relate to my own culture I guess - a big ol' viking sleeve or something like it. Seen some incredible artist around here that old friends showed. Still just have a lame faded one of a cat on the shoulder, from a crappy place when I was 17...made sure to get one before 18 to be the first in school so had to visit and "sweet talk" the artists first so they wouldn't check ID, lol.
-
Not that it should matter that much but just curious...how much does the whole thing cost?

I spend more on dumb sh!t so I am OK with it, my only regret is getting it this late in life. The tattoo artist told me I had great skin, that my elasticity was really good, but I am just wondering how it will be when I am 60.

60 isn't that long of a trip, the quality of the tattoo makes a huge difference, you have quality so you will be just fine. I have one that's almost 30 years old and people can't believe it, most think it was done recently. Mexicans are known to have great skin :D

just saying that i have avoided publishing pics - personally. long a56 story - but we have a negative person that used to scour the internet looking for us. a few of my tats won nationals a few years ago (last official nationals convention) - so the art might be recognized if anyone from the tattoo collection / appreciation / artist community might be on these boards. (not like i'm important- but the artist won a s41t ton of awards that year - him and and his apprentices swept and won almost everything they entered) it's all good tho - i'll go thru my pics from the artist or take some for the ones that don't already exist. might be a couple days tho.
good times!
