Well I usually do high reps to tone up the thighs and do lunges to tone the buttux...should I be taking dextrose or some other simple sugar after the leg workouts or is it just for upper body? Prob a dumb question

Take your dextrose/ whey drink after every workout, that includes legs. For most people, legs is the most intense, energy consuming workout, so your muscles need it even more. You should be hitting your legs hard with compound movements such as squats or leg press.
