I grew up in a Basque household. They were historically extremely poor, living in the Pyrenees and wasted no part of the animal. We had liver, tripe, lamb heads, beef tongues all the time. Liver was the only one I didn't like
I had tripe in Pho one time...
I didn't notice much flavor at all, but I hated that texture...

If you ever eat dim sum where the carts come around, maybe give it a try again - there's one version with a sauce that brings out the flavor and may help you get around the texture. There's another version that you'd likely find disgusting all around.

I agree with Adam that eating copious amounts of liver on the belief that it's a perfect source of all of these otherwise rare nutrients isn't a good idea, but I do actually happen to really like it.
It actually tastes kind of granular/grainy, somewhat like Thanksgiving dressing, and there is something about it that I do crave occasionally, somewhat like I craved nightshades and squash when I used to get nosebleeds routinely.
Anyone who eats liver without a gun to their head must be from another planet or something
I'll eat wild game that sometimes tastes like liver. Have to prepare it with bacon to make it palatable. That's also how I prepare liver. After reading the previous posts, I'll probably limit my liver consumption to 2-3 serving per week for a month.
After further thought, I'm not going to even buy raw liver to cook. To me it is an unpleasant experience, unlike grilling a steak or hamburgers. I'll just take it in capsule form.

If it’s not the dollar white loaf generally I prefer bread to rice. Unless it’s coconut rice :)
it's a mechanism of famine, So why are you forcing famine onto other people and telling them it's healthy..?
the conversation rate is slower then what is sustainable.. this is why many many vegans that have 70 total cholesterol and get strokes, heart attacks etc....
it's a enough tell you catch the next animal to eat.... this is why vegans are always making plant slop mock meats fake chicken, fake eggs ,fake milk etc..
T͟h͟e͟y͟ w͟a͟n͟t͟ t͟o͟ e͟a͟t͟ t͟h͟e͟i͟r͟ n͟a͟t͟u͟r͟a͟l͟ d͟i͟e͟t͟ o͟f͟ a͟n͟i͟m͟a͟l͟s͟ s͟o͟o͟o͟ s͟o͟o͟ b͟a͟d͟l͟y͟.
This is why a vegan tribe has never existed if one even ever existed all of them went sterile and died out or murdered each other because of psychosis illness..
Any animal not eating it's natural diet has a severe psychological illness. every single animal on earth eats it's natural diet as nature provided .. \
well except for humans because they're too stupid..... there is plenty of fools on here that claim "plants" are the natural human diet.
so what the hell were humans eating before these plants were invented? They were eating animals.
most likely the stupid humans were fear mongered by other humans that have psychosis or dementia...
Yeah I’m not reading anything you write anymore. Save your fingers and don’t respond to my posts.

I know there are non-meat eaters here, but am I the only one who picks a starch based on what main food item I'm pairing it with?

For sure... certain things go better with other protein items...
Ever had coconut rice with diced pineapple and sriracha? It’s amazing
not a fan of pineapple but I’d do it with mango or like raisins and cashews Indian style like Pulao or Biryani
I know there are non-meat eaters here, but am I the only one who picks a starch based on what main food item I'm pairing it with?
I do that too. But I also go with convenance and craving

I do, for the balance of amino acids. Fish is good with rice. Beef is good with potatoes. What the meat lacks in aminos, the carb makes up for it.

Goose liver tastes insanely good. Haven’t tasted other kinds.

Yo Spaniard, where do you procure goose liver? In my part of the U.S. we have to hunt wild game if we want goose liver. The main geese here are Canada geese and snow geese. I once got 3 Canada geese with 3 consecutive shots rapid fire.

Try duck liver pate on a baguette sometime. Relatively cheaper and you can get it from a decent supermarket.

Think Maximus means the type of geese that are force fed with pipes, not flying around KS.
