Andy Dalton has 3 tests left. Pittsburgh, Baltimore and San Francisco.
He's going to go 8-3 and win the NFC East. He is the best QB in that division right now.
Stephen Jones is saying all the right things now, but I'm sure Jerry had to open an extra handle of Johnnie Walker Blue to celebrate saving $105M guaranteed that Dak turned down.
They were 1-3 with him. The defense sucks, but the offense had to play Philip Rivers ball in all 2nd halves this year. And that division is an embarrassment

We won't be seeing much short incomplete passes, behind the player passes and overthrown balls. I'm not even thinking about the record or playoffs but it's gonna be refreshing seeing another QB play for Dallas

Not going to happen. They will have to franchise Dak with another $35 M. No chance. If Dalton is successful, it gives the Cowboys the opportunity to walk away.
I don't blame them either. Dak received horrendous advice. You don't walk away from $105 M guaranteed in a contact sport where, you are a hit away from having your career finished.

This.... Dak's agent was doing the negotiating, and guarantee he advised him to hold out for more money (more money for Dak = more money for agent). He had incredible offers on the table that would have secured his future. Unfortunately Dak had his worst nightmare come true now.

The entire 49er roster was destroyed by the same turf that got Dak. They are no longer a test for the rest of this season. They got absolutely smashed by the Dolphins for crying out loud.

Yes, Gordon Hayward had a similar injury. The problem is having confidence in the leg. Hayward has been decent but never the same player. Dak depends on his legs. How confident will he be?

He will play again ,but a lot of his game is based on his scramble/running ability. I think physically he can return to 100%, but mentally is another story like others mentioned.

dak has bad advice/agent.. he isn't even a top 5 quarterback and year in and year out the cowboys are below .500 fighting for a wild card spot in the worst division in football. Redskins, Giants, and even the Eagles try to hand the division title to the cowboys and they just manage to fuk it all up.
the dak era is over, but for the good of the cowboys organization.. andy dalton is an upgrade (srs)

Comparing two hall of famers to a ginger that got ran out of cincy of all places and the most over rated qb in recent memory... ok then.

Yeah but if its true the agent was the one telling him to hold out....how freaking greedy is the agent to turn down the cut he would of got from that deal? You think the agent would be thinking the same "this guy is 1 hit away from no deal, i should advise him to take this offer so i get mine"

No, you missed it.
Montana gets hurt, Steve finishes the season for the team(backup not hall of fame) and then the following year they play it out for team QB.
The idea was the battle for starter in 2021.

Cowboys fans think that he's a great QB due to his stats and the fact that he gets the Cowboys back in the game even if the other team is winning by three scores. They think he's a great QB while dude throws interceptions at the end of games when it matters. Also his turnovers become costly and the other team capitalizes

Dalton could very well pull a 2019 Tannehill and be the answer. he can be super efficient and maybe a better fit to what the team is built to do. not to mention cheaper.

I think Dak will get signed to a long-term contract because:
A) A 2nd year Franchise Tag will be a cap hit of $37-39M, so if you want to invest in Dak for the future of the cowboys then sign him to a long-term back-loaded deal to save cap space in the next 2-4 year window while we rebuild the defense. His agent will have to lower the price tag on Dak due to injury
B) Regardless of how Dalton performs, the organization does not view Dalton as a long-term investment for the cowboys. He is 32... Dak is 26
The only way I see Dak hitting the road is if Andy does something spectacular like reaches NFCCG or Super Bowl which is unlikely with this terrible defense

So much this. The one that irritated me so much about Dak was his inability to lead receivers. His passes were always behind or would sail over the players. Dalton throwing those deep ball dimes got me excited. I feel bad for Dak because I genuinely think he's a good dude. The league and fans will quickly see that he just isn't worth the money he was asking for. Yes, the players and organization respect him as a leader but at the end of the day, it is a business.

Most teams don't have a luxury backup QB like Dalton. Dalton is a 9 year starter and went to the playoffs 5 times with Cincy. That is saying a lot given the fact that they for the most part have schitty teams.
