Today I'll post my squats from my comp here, then the next day or two my bench and then deads.
I'll put a full write up/meet report in the Powerlifting forums and put the link in this thread as well.
Lift one: Squat
I felt very nervous going in, given that I bombed the last meet with three failed attempts at 468.
In the end I felt much better with the weight. Got lift #1 with two whites, went for a WR at 488.
Unfortunately the refs did not look too kindly on my attempts and I sincerely think I should have been given whites - posting two angles of every lift - but in the end I have to leave no room for doubt so will be training to sink a little more for the future. Thankfully it did not ruin my meet but it did put me well behind my targets.
I'll post the rest of the details soon, but the short story is, while it was a roller coaster ride and there were some disappointments, overall I'm very happy with my meet prep, effort and adaptation to the situation and (spoiler) came away with 4 state and 1 world record!

I think you got robbed on the 2nd attempt, I saw a pause at parallel. Not so sure on the 3rd? Good work though that's a heavy squat.

Posting bench from IPL tested worlds today: very happy to see my bench getting bigger after my injury history!
After at least getting my squat opener, felt a lot less stressed about the rest of the meet and was more relaxed.
Opened at 297 which flew but gave me confidence for planned #2 attempt, which also went up very easily at 319. Discussed whether I should stick with 325 which I knew I could do, or push for a PR at 330 and try to make up for lost ground on squats. Went for 330 and came very close!
Overall very pleased with my progress on bench and about seeing even more growth there in the future.

Very nice all around in the O35 as I would expect from some strong and awesome lifters. Here are a few lifts from the home garage gym I've put together over time. I had a friend who put me on to some homemade manufactured plates that weigh 46.8 lbs or so, and they've come in super handy when weights were expensive and hard to come by during Covid. I don't deadlift nearly as much as I used to due to a sciatica injury a couple of years ago. I've bounced back well but I don't push it to much.

It's nice to listen to what you want in your own space. I always take my own headphones when I'm at the commercial gym too. That makes it harder to talk to friends but I need to tune them out sometimes anyway.
Let's just say I've been away and have gone through plenty of changes. Life is good though and the home gym was a life saver for me and some friends during Covid. Glad but not surprised you're still around!

Great to hear from one of my old school favorites around here! You are still strong as hell from those vids, man! I'm still doing my home gym thing too, just have acquired a lot more equipment since back when you and I used to talk irons.

All right, final installment of my IPL experience: Deadlifts!
I'll post the full meet report in the next day or two, but deads were the best part of the meet for me, no surprise to most here.
I started with an IPL tested WR which was pretty low before (507) at 512. Light weight and moving on. #2 was 529 and moved super smooth and easy.
Since I missed the WR squat and third bench attempt, I could have gone for a safer 3rd deadlift at my previous PR 545, but what's the point in that? :P
I went for a huge PR at 562 which would have given me the total WR as well. Alas, that weight is still a little beyond me.
Next time!
Still, felt good about the experience for sure!

Yesterday was the first day of my next cycle; so more reps/lighter weight. Focusing on small tweaks to squat to try to get deeper/more weight. Went even wider stance and keep working on squatting down more than back. Feeling pretty good/smooth.

I don't know if your talking about my form or belly size? My form was pretty crappy, I had DOMS, I could do 10 perfectly, not 30.
I'm down to 220 from 235, yet I'm drinking more beer, so who knows, I'm sure my upper body work/results is helping with illusions.
Floor press new PR 235 cheated that rep-

LOL how could your belly be part of your form? I am talking about bodyfat, it seems your belly is going down as in you are losing weight.

The mid section is getting tighter and as I said i was 235, now at 220 on the nose. I used to eat junk food at night, now I drink a protein shake with whOle milk for the last 3 months.

Agreed; deload week is... boring :) I have no idea why some of my deload week vids got as many views as they did. They bore me to tears watching them myself.
Yesterday was my first bench day of the new cycle and I was feeling pretty crappy. I also accidentally loaded my first set with 264lbs instead of 242... so lol @ me, but the higher reps are challenging me for sure!

Whats the point of that bar? Also wouldn't it make more sense to put your head in the middle, sort of like a trap bar how your body is in the middle of the bar?

--neutral grip is easier on the shoulders. This is the same grip used when log pressing if you have ever seen that strong man event.
--the opening in the middle is not big enough for a person's head (at least not my big old noggin) :D
--I do have a trap bar, but racking it for OHP with my setup is a pain.

Feeling pretty crappy but pushed through a few sets of higher rep/lower weight deads last night then called it. Will do the rest of the workout this weekend if I feel better. Still got enough reps in to generate some soreness I think! :)
You can also tell I'm not 100% because I captioned this incorrectly (should have read 3x8x375) lol.

guys, we can't let this thread go to page 2.
I'm having fun boring ya with these light squats. I did a cheat curl with 148 after, but only posting the fun stuff, these squats puts a tingle in the bunghole:D
Here's set 2 for 22reps. This felt great and great form, this is my leg accessary work now.

No workouts are boring heavy or light, it shows commitment on your part. In my opinion folks talking about working out but not showing videos is boring.
