My first competition
These were my lifts a month ago at my first competition. I had only been training for 4 months consistently prior to it. I learned a lot from the veterans at the competition. I missed my bench that day because I set my opener too high and because my left spinal erector cramped. I am Hoping to make huge improvement in the upcoming months/years which shouldn't be a problem considering that the 4 months I had been training were done in a deficit. So once I am no longer dieting I cannot see why my strength would not continue to increase. I still have this year and next year in the junior division. I am hoping to break a few american records in my weight division in the future. I will be retesting my maxes this week and I do expect to have improved on all of my lifts. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Good job man. Sorry you bombed on Bench, but now you know. You should gain weight for sure.

For being your first meet you did really well, you didn't screw up any of the judge's calls and your form was pretty good on all of the lifts. Now you know to set your openers lower so I'm sure you'll do better in the future as well. Good luck and keep lifting!!!!!

Gaining weight isn't a possibility as I am doing MMA and will be fighting at 145 or 135 this summer. I plan on staying at 148lbs if not drop to 132 in the near future. Most of my strength gains so far have been on a deficit except for what I have gained this past month. My goal is to maintain my strength if not continue to increase it. I will resume dieting this week and continue to do so until i get down to sub 145. I have contemplated dropping weight lifting altogether a month or two before my first fight in order to slim down a bit more not sure about that yet.
