Reclaiming my life at 37

Hello everyone,

Im new to the bodybuilding.com community and i joined the forums to be in a wonderful supporting group.

Ill give you alittle back history. in the start of 2020 and before i use to live a very sedentary lifestyle ate what ever i wanted barely worked out. I use to work from home which made things hella worse. In the pic below in the red it was Feb 2020 and I believe I weighed in between 320-325 lbs. I noticed i was consuming about 50 energy drinks a week. It was like i depended on them just to keep myself awake and afloat. I could eat a whole Dominos pizza , pasta bowl, and a Soda in one sitting.

I began watching my 600 lb life and I began to look at my life and how my habits would affect not only just me but also my family. My family suffered from diabetes, heart attacks, and high blood pressure. Resulting in amputations, and blindness. So out of the blue i snapped out of my grossness with myself and began changing my lifestyle. So I began to get rid of the energy drinks and soda. I have stopped pigging out all the time and I am watching what i eat. i go to the gym regularly revolving around my work schedule. And almost 6 months later I am 280 lbs. And I really havent given myself a designated targeted goal. But I feel more alive than ever and I want to continue this trend and not go backwards.

I hope that being in this community helps me push my limits even further and see how much more hard work I can put in.

Keep it up man, you’ve made some good progress and looking good. The nutrition/diet portion is often times the most difficult, sounds like you have made some good changes there. When you get that momentum going and feeling better you wanna ride that wave since it is a long term/life style thing.

I like how you have still been going to the gym regularly even revolving around work schedule that isn’t easy since it messes with your routine

Awesome progress so far! You should be very proud. Keep it up. Age 37 is when I changed my life too.

It's never too late, but I am thankful I didn't wait longer.

Glad to see you've made some good decisions and are already making big strides.

That 600lb Life show is a trip. I've watched quite a few episodes. Talk about depressing. I can see why that show would motivate anyone to start making a lifestyle change.

Right now losing any amount of weight is a great goal no matter the number. As you start to lose more and get more involved with your workout routines, you'll probably start to hash out some sort of plan in regards to lifting goals and weight targets. Don't sweat it too much now, just keep doing what you're doing.

Thats whats up man, nice work there, its a lifestyle and you have put in the work, just keep at it with dedication, feed off the results you have gotten and then keep building, Good Job!!!
