Trying to decide which of these standard weight sets to keep. I have a Weider 135 lb set, a Legacy 135 lb set, and a Milo 75 lb set. Also have four DP 5 lb plates. I'm not that familiar with the Legacy brand. I like the traditional look of them, but maybe the Weider set is better quality? Is the Milo set the only one that would be considered vintage?

Yeah, but wheres the rest of them?
This thread seems to have slowed down so I'll post. I bought some plates from a scrap yard today and one is a cool Ferrigno plate. It is a very skinny plate and hope to one day find a mate for it. I don't know anything about Ferrignos.
The two Weider KG plates are neat. I know the market is full of them but I have never had a set in my hands and did not realize they were a smaller diameter than 'standard' 45 lb plates and a CAP 20kg plate I also got today. Were all of the
weider 20kg plates smaller than other 45 and 20kg plates? If not, what time period were they made this way?
So i saw an ad for a pro form bike lol

Looking for 10s and 15s if anyone has and wants to sell or trade :).
I'm pretty sure they were made here. They have been discussed previously in this thread.
That is awesome to know, I just picked up a couple of plates and re-did them. Got the 45’s and 25’s, plus the barbell. Anyone had any experience with the bar?
I would also love to get the full set... I’m on the hunt!

That would be interesting to know, I’ve seen a few pairs of these in my area.

Awesome!
So you sold them? If you did, why do you need permission to post some pictures?
Yes, you have the right to give permission anyone to post/show the pics or share pics everyone. Nobody has right to comment on it.

You can get suggestion from the person who knows about market. however it is good experiment for you. You will learn from these types of experiments.
Just added pictures to my gallery because I couldn’t add a link :)
Let me know what you think, I’m happy with them!

Been looking into it, alls I’ve found out so far is that gyms seem to purchase them from a wholesaler.
Bought these off FB and want to know what brand they are? Any guess?
So from what I can tell, they are a Body-Solid plate sold wholesale to gyms and such.

How usable is the vintage iron.? Can it be dropped? What the diameter on the handles?

Its not recommended to drop any dumbbell, new or vintage.
I think only ironmaster warranties their dumbbells against drops. The only one i am aware of

They look too nice in their current state. You should spray them with black paint, asap.

i just try to be like the gawd northerntourist, pretending i am some great finder of vintage iron when really im just blessed by the geographic area i reside in which is just based on a high population and close proximity to york pa, new york ny, and new jersey (high pop = more who bought the vintage iron from where it was produced, so more i can sucker into pretending to feel grateful too for selling to me when really im not gonna use it, just pretend im amazing at finding it and selling to forum members for an amazing price while i pretend my welds are better than v2 of titan fitness items). If that doesnt work im amazing at getting my buddies together to troll legitmate forum members and contributers, and then feel confused as to why no one posts here anymore 🤔
Dont let the door hit you on the way out :).
