I think he rustles jimmies more than Chael...but he isn't at the level Chael is/was.
Chael is the king of trash talking.

I got Yoel by TKO. Lyoto can compete with anyone in the division when it comes to technique but physically he cant compete with the top tiers (Bones, Weidman, Luke, Jacare, Romero). Theyre too physically strong, athletic and explosive for him. Even Phil Davis gave him alot of problems when stylistically it was an easy matchup for him. When Yoel gets a hold of him its over especially on the ground Lyotos ground defense is pretty bad and Yoel might be the most explosive and best athlete in MMA even at near 40yo[/QUOTE]
The thing is Romero is always open to getting hit and he gasses. If Lyoto can survive the first round or two, stuffing TD's or getting right back up, it's going to be over for Romero.

.....against fighters who don't speak English.
Bisping shut him up real quick before their fight
-
Anyone else see Lyoto going through his prefight warmups and the framed pic of Michael Bolton in the background?
For some reason that just struck me as incredibly funny.

When Yoel fights smart like he did against Tavares and Kennedy hes pretty hard to hit. His awkward rhythm is hard to time. But if he fights like he did against Brunson and fights on the outside then Lyoto can knock him out. I think he will work his way inside, not fight on the outside and outmuscle/outpower Lyoto badly until a brutal knockout. I dont see it going past 2 rounds BTW
-
I think Jesus is gonna give Romero that fight.
-
Phuck man this is actually sad. Remember when Lyoto hit the scene? Legend for sure showed karate can be legit and applied it to MMA better than everyone. This is it for the Karate Kid tho, end of an era. Kinda depressing hes one of the last of the old school
-
what type of music is machida walking out to?
sounds like allah akbar type music

I guess this would be one good thing if Romero wins. It's funny how many people get butt-devastated when fighters thank God.
Also, Machida looks like he just woke up

He was still getting hit with a lot of shots against Tavares and he started to gas in the third.
I agree with you though. Very tough fight for Machida, Romero is a damn beast. If Romero fights smart and doesn't play into Machida's game, it's going to be over. I think the smaller cage is going to hurt Machida's movement.
-
Machida looks like he's out of it.
I assume we're all rooting for him, and usually when that happens our guy gets stomped and tears will be had

Sounds like LInking park

this is an interesting style matchup for sure.. and yeah, good point.. the smaller cage is not good for machida at all.. dumb idea to use that.
-
lets go soldier of god!
sorry machida :(
-
romero not cutting machida off at all so far..

Bleed it out.
-
i;d be happy if i was machida. he didn't have a great reaction to that punch, but it looks like romero is willing to let machida mostly work his game.
-
Tough round to score, didnt expect a kicking match. Yoels so athletic hes making Lyoto look slow
-
This ain't dancing with the stars. Fight already
-
Romero looks like he could just unload with a flurry if he wanted but Machida is good at counters.. interesting fight... 2-3 should start poppin off

He looked tired and worn out when he came to the cage. And I've been on a streak lately of rooting for the guy who ends up losing.
-
Machida definitely a lot slower these days
-
goodnight sweet machida
lol romeroa tried the run the cage punch
if he didnt slip he woulda hit him hard witht he second punch
-
Glad nobody took my sig bet. Not looking good for Machida. Romero is fighting smart.
-
Machida's chin is looking pretty shot. Getting wobbled by nearly everything that connects
