I have something that will disturb even more hell out of you. Sit down for this one: Trump was once an anti-vaxxer.

And yet we’re still doing better than just about every country in Western Europe in deaths per capita. That’s about the only significant statistic and is the best at negating differences in testing protocols. Feel free to bash Trump, because that’s going to happen no matter what as has been proven constantly over the past 3+ years. But when everyone slams America’s response they are sh!tting on all of the great Americans working tirelessly to minimize the impact of this virus.

You know that we will lead the world in deaths per capita at the end of the month. Our response has been horrible. You don't lead the world in cases and deaths with any kind of a good, coordinated response.

Leading in cases could just mean we’re a huge country with high levels of testing. We’ll see what happens by the end of the month, but why are people sh!tting all over us while giving European countries a pass?

IDK. Did their leaders downplay it as nothing more than the flu until a week ago? From the numbers it seems that Italy and Spain are as bad but we'll see where it ends up. They initiated central government mandated lockdowns that we have not done. Hell florida is still open for business.
Several EU countries actually banned (not restricted) travel to china the same time or before we did.

Remember that when it comes time for voting. Your boy Biden was calling him a racist along with the rest of the left when he first started talking about shutting down the border.

Nope. He ain't the president. Trump has too many stupid/wrong tweets to link to that didn't impact the millions of deplorables who voted for him.

So you praise them for federally mandated lockdowns, but if Trump did that you’d be reeeeeing like never before. As usual you’re more concerned with what is said than what is done. “Well yeah Italy is getting deep d!cled by this thing and we’re doing much MUCH better than them, but I don’t like what our president said!”
Also, please post a list of EU countries with their dates of travel ban implementation along with America’s. Thanks in advance!

Apparently just Italy. Trump's travel restriction took effect Feb 4th. I guess banning flights to China in late January was too late for everyone.
"Speaking to the nation last night, U.S. President Donald Trump said a ban on Europeans entering the United States is necessary because Europe hadn’t banned flights from China early as the U.S. had done.
“The European Union failed to take the same precautions and restrict travel from China and other hot spots as a result a large number of new clusters were seeded by travellers from Europe,” he said.
But virtually every part of this statement is untrue.
Italy imposed a ban on flights from China on 31 January, immediately after a Chinese couple in Rome tested positive for the virus. The U.S. began to restrict flights from China four days later. But while Italy enacted a full ban, the U.S. policy was only a restriction, with wide exemptions.
Today In: Energy
On February 4 the U.S. State Department issued a level 4 travel advisory mandating that foreign citizens who had been to China be turned away, and Americans who had been to China must undergo screening and possibly be put in quarantine for 14 days. But the restrictions contained wide exemptions, largely because of fears over the economic impacts of a full ban. Flight routes between the U.S. and China have been steadily cancelled over the past month, but in a piecemeal fashion and at the discretion of airlines.
By contrast, the Italian ban four days earlier was complete, with no exemptions. "

What are the “wide exemptions” from the ban?

US citizens, imports, etc.

Did any country ban imports from China?
For the citizens they were required to do a 14 day quarantine upon return iirc. We should bring American citizens back home.... for one so that they can receive care here if needed, and secondly because of the crazy sh!t that China was doing to people at that time. Plus imagine the outrage if Trump tried to block the return of American citizens.
Not sure what type of exemptions we had on etc., but if I had to guess we probably should’ve banned that as well so people couldn’t try to hide the fact they were presenting a list with only two items.

Regardless. The travel restriction didn't seem to do a lot of good now did it? Since us and Italy will soon be the countries with the highest infection rate and most dead.
And I'm not even blaming that on Trump. He couldn't have stopped the virus from getting here. He could have acted like it was serious though and done all the things he's finally started to do. Like widespread testing, social distancing, etc.
Like how SK and Germany handled their business.

Those people had to be infected in November, so the virus made the jump to human at the latest in late November. It first became a crisis in Wuhan in late December. Even if Trump put the travel ban in place on Jan 1 when this first became a crisis, there was a month of free travel between the US and Wuhan with potentially infected people. There is no possible way that Trump or any other President would have known in time to prevent the virus from spreading here.
I didn't criticize Trump's travel ban at the time, and I want to be clear that I'm not criticizing it now, either. Just saying there is no way he could have stopped it, and that's not his fault it got here.

Nancy Polisi on CNN right now talking about what she prayed...why not talk about her instead of Mike Pence?

Right. His fault started with eliminating the pandemic team to save money for his tax cuts for the rich. Having no coordinated federal procurement and distribution machine. And completely downplaying the virus the first 10 weeks.
