What would be the intent of deputizing National Guardsmen as US Marshals?

red tape to allow them to perform certain law enforcement duties?
Might have something to do with Jurisdiction? Not sure tbh. Seems unnecessary considering nothing is going to happen anyway.
IDK what exactly is going on, and I'm not huge into conspiracy theories. But anyone that can't admit that there hasn't been tremendous amount of odd things happening in the last two weeks is out of their mind.
It's almost like we're anticipating an offensive attack from China or something.
Just an administrative thing.
Theres going to a whole lot of politicians getting arrested.

Yes. They have been deputized every inauguration since 9/11. Guardsmen lack specific enforcement and detainment authority without being deputized. These restrictions were enacted as a result of reconstruction. Technically speaking the guard could prevent someone from entering a restricted zone, but not have the authority to detain anyone who does. They can only remove them OR briefly detain them until civilian law enforcement detains and arrests.

Yes, that is correct. However when have they ever been deputized by the U.S. Marshalls, not the local PD? Explain that...
