It's a shame he feels this way because he's wrong. Look at where he used to stand to return Sampras' serve and that was back when surfaces were servebot friendly. One of the greatest ball strikers would have done just fine against them if he wanted it enough. Davydenko had peak Nadal's measure on HC winning 6 out of 8. Agassi was far superior to Davydenko.

Federer's FH in 2004 was scary and he double bageled Hewitt in the final, the same guy who had spent something like 80 weeks at #1. Despite being 11 years older Agassi gave him his toughest match. Even reached the final the next year and took a set off him 6-2 and pushed the 3rd set to a tiebreak. I have no doubt in 1995 form he would have been a tough opponent for all 3.
Look at the way they were hitting the ball 15 years ago, taking it on the rise, painting the lines, back when slow courts meant clay.

If you ever watched the guy when he was at his best it'd be clear if any player from the 90s would have been tough today on slower HC and grass it's him. Took the ball early and was strong off both sides. His return was second to none. I still rate it the best because of the speed of the courts, the quality of the serves he was facing week in week out (Sampras, Ivanisevic, Krajicek, Becker, Philippoussis, Stich, etc.), and his return position.
Anyway I just hope in years to come those 3 aren't talking BS like that in retirement when the likes of Zverev are racking up titles.
Agassi was selling himself short with those comments. He's an OTG, but he's right in one regard, when the big 3 are playing at their top lvl, even now after their prime, their feats are superhuman. Take the AO 2012 final as an example, it is astonishing the lvl of tennis Nadal and Djoker played for almost 6 hours with little sign of drop in intensity, after the adrenaline dropped following the match both of them could barely stand up for the presentation.
The argument that the big 3 have been successful because of the "homogenization" of the courts is flawed imo, all three are geniuses and I argue they would've adaptive to "fast court" conditions.
So, in short. Agassi is a huge fan of Nadal, Fed, and Djoker. Their tennis will never be matched or surpassed IMHO, this is it boyos, we saw THE golden age of tennis, it's all downhill from here.

In Agassi's case he wasn't just facing a Raonic serve once in a slam he was coming up against a serve like that several times in a tournament.
2. Novak has spent most of his time looking like the ROS GOAT on slow-medium pace courts against baseliners who aren't going to punish a weak return like a S&V who is coming in on most serves. We can speculate about how he'd fair on fast HC, grass, and indoor carpet against an army of servebots but with Agassi we don't have to because he did it week in week out for most of his career.

The roof was always going to remain closed because the rules state once the roof is closed the match has to be completed before it can be opened again. One of his finest moments was in Brazil on clay in Kuerten's hometown of Florianopolis, aged 20. He won both his singles matches and the doubles with Rafter without dropping a set.
To put that in perspective Kuerten was ranked #1 and won his 3rd French Open a couple of months later. You can imagine what the crowd was like seeing the great Gustavo Kuerten straight setted on clay by a fist pumping Aussie with his cap on backwards.

It would be easy to casually dismiss him with 3 slams and think he wasn't a great player however coming into his prime now he'd be cleaning up.
He faced Djokovic and Federer in 11 slam finals and lost 9 of them. 24 slam meetings against the Big 3 and 19 losses. Djokovic was the biggest roadblock (2-8) and a lot of those matches were tight 4 setters with a decisive TB or tough 5 setters. His game matched up well but aside from a couple of years with Lendl he would crack under pressure. Also had a stretch from 2006-2009 where he went 6-2 against prime Federer.
Him beating Fed for the gold in London at the Olympics pissed me off to no end. Thought that was finally gonna be the time. Hard to believe that Fed hasn’t managed to get that one.

2009 US Open final could have been the first with Fedal. Beat Nadal 2-2-2 in the semis.
2012 Olympics SF. Federer was out there for 4h30 the day before the final. Advantage Murray.
2013 Wimbledon SF. Del Potro pushing Djokovic for 5 hours helped Murray in the final. Advantage Murray again.
2016 Olympics. Helped Murray's cause again by taking both Djokovic and Nadal out and then turning up in the final gassed himself. Helped Murray collect his 2nd gold medal.
2018 Wimbledon QF. 5 hours of brutal tennis with Nadal in the match of the tournament. Definitely helped Novak's cause against Rafa in the semis which was another long match.
