Are there any active online forums/communities for powerlifting still around? Looks like these forums have really slowed down. I check powerlifting watch once in a while but that site has been doing down hill for years.
Seems like forums in general are dying off. How about reddit powerlifting? Or is everybody just an instagram whore nowadays.
99% on IG now

Reddit is much more active than here, especially when drama/gossip comes up that everyone wants to talk about. The rest is mostly Instagram. Some Instagram posts turn into 500+ comments of people arguing.

There's some drama right now with JP and joe Sullivan. Idk what it is but it exists

Yeah, I dont know what JPs involvement is, but it looks like Joe is going to leave his wife. Apparently he had an open relationship with his wife and it got messy. No surprise there. Not sure of all the details.

Reddit is lame because its just a bunch of anonymous guys with 200 wilks , and tiny dicks calling anyone with a 400+ wilks a cheater lol.
This place is cool because none of us are actually anonymous/ we can rep people who are legit. And take away reps from fkin morons
/this forum bans drug use talk. I'm so sick and tired of people being like "DRUGS" on every video of someone lifting a lot of weight

I think they did a survey and found that over 50% of people who regularly comment and give people advice etc have never done a comp
Don't quote me on that though
I think its just a function of size. The more people that go there the more newer lifters there will be. Message boards like this also attract an older crowd than things like IG and reddit

neg me for fanboying but
Larry has gone full retard mode power. Trains log like 8 times, hits 445. Pretty ridiculous. I was thinking 200k was pretty questionable as his goal for his show, but he hit it a week after saying it lmao.

It looks like they about to implement a mandatory flair, so then you'll know what their Wilks is or if they've never competed before.

Which number would you rather double?
I think that's a good idea. Still allow anonymity but at least you know how strong the person who is giving you advice is. Maybe not the best system since strong people can be dumb and weak people can be smart, but better than nothing

Well Wilks is gone, soooooo

Yeah, wonder how much that wheel cost to make.

Have some room in my garage for a couple more pieces of equipment without being crammed, curious what you guys would go for. Currently have:
Power rack
Fat pad bench
Adjustable bench
Wall mounted cable machine
Reverse hyper
Would love something for leg/quad accessory work like a hack squat or something. Wife likes the belt squat machines but those have pretty big footprints.

My two attempts at belt squatting at home.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BuhK8doAumv/ - This is my friend lifting at my house. I haven't tried this method yet, but it appears to be more user friendly.
Do you have a SSB? Thats definitely my specialty bar that gets used the most.

Somebody tried explaining this on Reddit and I wasn't quite picturing it, but that is definitely a good idea. I have a landmine attachment for my rack, feel like if I stood on the edge of a platform like you were I could get plenty deep.
I do not have a SSB but everybody keeps recommending it.
-
would definitely recommend an SSB.
-
Recently added a Yoke bar...a little more expensive but, a really solid piece.
-
would definitely recommend an SSB.
I think it was you that told me to pepper my upper back when I said I had a SSB on the way. Good call man, what an awesome tool, I love it.
In other news:
Been struggling for time to train lately and have found some great ways to get workouts in.
1)Swiss bar clean and press 5x5. Then row that weight for 10x5 (easy but not trying to fry back). Then pull weight off and finish with curls.
2) axles clean and press. Then rows starting with that weight, work up until too heavy then RDLs.
3) farmers walk. Then row one of my farmers bars (handle turned down it’s just a 2 inch axle) can finish with RDL
Kind of fun to use one thing for an entire workout, and I get through these in under an hour but still feel exhausted the next day.

SquatMax has a version of their belt squat that attaches to any power rack, cuts down the foot print and is pretty quick to setup.

Day after I posted that they put on their FB (just checked now)
"In the shadows of Columbus, Ohio lies the world's most infamous gym: Westside Barbell.
For the first time, go inside the gym and hear from the men and women who built its legacy, in this one of a kind feature length documentary.
Coming May 7th, 2019 to iTunes and DVD!"
