From what I can tell, they make very nice stuff. Any hints on what you purchased? Selectorized or plate loaded?
This has no relation to anything... I just find this really, really cool.

Guns, Farts in a bottle, and unicycles, thank ****ing god, my world has returned to normal and I now don't feel retarded when I look at this thread. I like tech stuff as much as the next guy, but I had to take an alive before looking at the last page in the thread. Just way above my pay grade... not that I have a problem with it, its certainly appropriate, just was nice to see the diversity!
I just ordered some meals from Rich Piana's site.
In case anyone is wondering why, I can't prep food where I live. The water is not fit for man nor beast, nor plant (ask my dead plants what they think of it). The food looks healthy enough & is cheaper than running out to eat a lot, once gas is factored in. I ordered 49 meals, so each meal (after the cost of shipping) comes out to about $8.12 each. Fast food is about the same price, but once I factor in gas costs, this prepackaged food comes out on top. I also simply need access to healthy food, now. Because I'm splitting this with my mother, it'll last us for 3.5 weeks when only eating a single meal per day. We'll do prep for the other 2 meals, which is fairly easy. Oh, another reason why I'd be eating these for dinner is that the rental we are in doesn't have a properly working AC & it hits 80F in the kitchen. Cooking anything in that temp is unbearable w/ the high humidity. This fixes the issue of throwing fuel into the fire, so to speak.
I'll keep you guys updated for anyone who's in need of something like this.

I'd like to try something like Soylent. I tend to skip breakfast(I'm not a morning person) and eat fast food too frequently for lunch. Sounds convenient, and it'd be easier to track calories and such.

Soylent may be a perfectly fine product, but I gotta wonder about the name. When I first encountered it, it caused me to think of the movie "Soylent Green". I don't think I'd want my product to be associated with the ubiquitous food that the people in that movie ate.
Soylent Green is made from people. Yes, literally. As I recall, people were euthanized and their bodies were processed into food that the rest of the population ate.
Just so you know, SK has created a new thread, Equipment Crew Tech Thread. I'm subscribed, but haven't posted there yet.

My thoughts exactly, not a great name IMO.
Just checking in, I haven't fallen off the wagon. Only thing new with the gym is 2 Airdynes. One AD4 I'm using while I rebuild and custom paint an AD5. That and playing with electrolysis rust removal some more. Did a old curl bar and will post pics soon in the vintage thread.

Yeah, I need to get in quality food before worrying about supplementation. The salt & other bloat is great for lifting, by my body hates it.
Once I can cook, it's on like donkey kong & I won't have to order this "overpriced" food.

I have not seen Soylent Green, yet. I've seen so many shows paying homage in some fashion, but never the actual film.
.... And Netflix doesn't carry it. At least there's other options out there! This is why, at times, I really miss video rental stores, especially ones that stocked VHS before the concept died.

Easily found. The world's most resilient site has it. "Soylent.Green.1973.1080p.Bluray.x264........." That must be the one. Yesterday I saw the new Independence Day. Still no "real" story, but fun. One critic said it was supposed to be dumb fun, but to him it was just dumb.
No movie is real, no matter how real they try to make it. Always something modified. Even reality life shows. Which just annoys me because of people with no real acting or singing or talent skills make millions. Their skill is how to make money doing stupid stuff on screen.

I don't need more "correspondence" from my ISP about things I'm interested in, lol.
I need a vpn before going down that road.
As for stories, that's why I'm sitting on almost 3TB of anime. ;)

Hmmmm. No comment on your ISP. Yeah, you should be one a vpn or tor or something. I've been looking at PIA (privateinternetaccess) since you can pay anonymously.
I like anime. Some of them anyway. Giant robots. Mobile suits. Near future. Distant future. Martial Arts. There's just too many of them.
not sure if this is the right thread but never saw this low row before looks pretty good, at least not as far as the handles go

The only reality show worth watching - Alone on History.
10 people are left individually on Vancouver Island, separated by impassable mountains or rivers from one another with a certain number of approved items to take with them found here:
http://www.history.com/shows/alone/articles/full-gear-list-and-prohibited-items
Last man standing wins $500,000.
The survival aspect is amazing on it's own, but the real interesting part is when the solitude starts playing on their psyches.

Interesting. I'll go look for it. I think I will like the survival aspect more than the solitude problems. That's just in their minds. A more real "survivor".

My dad loves this show and has been telling me about it. Playstation VUE is killing me as History is one of the channels they don't have yet

Which package do you have for vue? Actually, hop over to the tech thread, ;).
There must be some sort of "minimum" requirement. I mean, they obviously will not allow native mountain dwelling tribesmen who are detached from modern society from joining. They will also probably not allow jungle surviving rebels from third world countries to join.
The ones I just mentioned live off the grid on their own for years; with none of the safety equipment in the list.
Tom Hanks could join huh... I mean Chuck Nolan / Wilson ? (Cast Away).
I have Dish Network and they're service is fine. i could do without the loss of service in the rain, but the DVR sometimes has stuff to watch and it's connected to the internet for on-demand if i need it.
I just hate how we haven't moved past channel packages yet. in order for me to get ESPN i have to pay for a higher tier package that includes literally dozens if not hundreds of channels i don't want to see. these channels air garbage. it's literally junk programming filling junk channels in a system that's spawning more ****. there are a handful of companies that own all the stations and they need to get their **** together.

Is it all in their mind? Yea - but it is legit. Several have made it over 30 days - people don't realize how much a few days with no human contact will start to impact your mind. Granted - the contestants get routine medical checkups periodically (and likely fresh batteries and storage for the cameras) and they do have a sat phone and gps locator so they are always the push of a button away from being "rescued."
What's interesting to me, and I don't think this will spoil anything, is not just the solitude - but how most of the contestants will start debating with themselves over whether the chance at the prize money is worth going longer without seeing their families.
Actually one of the contestants in season one really started to lose it, I thought, on camera there were periods where he would have the thousand yard stare and just start stammering.

I agree. It's 2016. I should be able to go on a website, click off the 8-12 channels I actually watch, and pay for those and only those. Come on Google, make it happen!
talking with the wife, she thinks we should redo the basement before the deck, so i'm thinking late winter/early spring we'll gut and redo the entire basement. will probably be moving the gym equipment to a different corner and will downsize the space. will be a little sad lowering the footprint of my gym, but i think that in the end i'll be much happier with a properly finished basement that we can put to use.
the low ceiling will take a little getting used to for my wife, who doesn't spend much time down there, but having a ranch style basement not be finished is a big waste of space (~1800 sq ft)...

I agree that having a finished basement would be nice. We are getting ready to put our house on the market next Wednesday. We decided a month ago to list it due to being a really hot sellers market in our area for houses in our price range. We have done a lot of work to get things ready but still have to finish a few things this weekend and then finish the purge, clean, and stage. It will be nice to start house shopping in the spring with our laundry list of wants.

Other than sports, if you don't need to watch a show when it airs, there's usually a torrent up for it in the next 24 hours if it's a "big" show, like breaking bad, lost, etc. I know that most people don't want to go to the trouble to do that, especially if they want feel safer using a VPN.
I'd really like to see a company other than Google offer this. They need competition. Their search results are fairly biased, depending on the topic. I'm just nit picking, but it would be really awesome to have companies offer both single channels & packages. You better believe that a single channel is going to cost you more a la cart than a package, but in the end, I think it would be worth it. It's really all about marketing, right? So long as companies get viewers, the ad revenue will just flow right in...
At this point, I don't see why I can't go to ESPN for Monday Night Football. It's not as if I can skip commercials during a live sporting event!
... then finish the purge, clean, and stage.
That was a fun movie. Morbid. Violent. The Purge. Election Year. It's more political though.

i'm not looking forward to the drywall dust. i'm afraid we're going to have to move out of the house while it's being done. not sure if it's even possible for that kind of mess to be contained to just the basement...
good luck on the house sale, lots of houses in our area being listed. i've talked to a few people who've mentioned they're selling their house to take advantage of the market and will be buying later.
