Thanks Ron yes sir you are correct. I'm not sure if you followed cmoore and Bo_Flecks when they were logging their training here. Those two dudes stayed shredded all year around and managed to keep making gains. I really do believe your body has a bodyfat set point. If you stay lean long enough your body will adjust the set point down.
I'm pretty sure Chris was better at it than I was.
I stayed at ~10% for seven years. During contest runs, I would take it down to ~6/7%, and for one contest I took it down to ~5% (just too low).
I think you're right. After a lengthy stay at lower body fat levels, your body fat set point will lower. Unfortunately, I also found that an extended stay in the low body fat levels can change your hormonal profile as well as your serotonin levels.
The only real way to correct that is to take some time off from the extreme dieting and let your body recover.
After my last contest, I let my weight get back up close to 200lbs. I really wasn't carrying that much unnecessary fat, but I was much fluffier than I had been in years. I carried that for over six months, and then cut back to my current weight of 190lbs.
I've been carrying that extra weight for about 10 months, and my hormonal profile and serotonin levels are back to normal (can't really check the serotonin levels, but at least I feel normal again).
Anyway, just my experience with it.

Sounds like a cool program you've come up with Baker. Pair that with your strict diet and I'm sure you will still look like the statue of David. :D That is pretty nuts how quickly you can gain/lose weight. I'm right there with you though. Yesterday I was working with my boss at a very demanding job site. He asked if I wanted to take a lunch and I said no, I'm on "the TM79 diet" of burning 3000+ calories a day and not eating anything. Of course I was sort've kidding, but whenever I do that, I can count on being 4-5 lbs lighter in one day. Whatever happened to the days when I couldn't gain weight no matter how hard I tried...
