Lol at wasting sick ass green Lantern power sets on a TV show
My wife is pissed if that happens. She says she likes Diggle the way he is. They can't just change his character a couple seasons in.
Personally, I think it's cool. I'm all for more superheroes on tv.
Arrow has a great cast of characters who bring a lot to the show. In my opinion, the supporting characters play the best rolls over those main character types. Dig is the voice of reason while Felicity, to me, is the heart. Oliver is okay but he's lost a lot of his spirit this season. He was way more compelling in earlier seasons but since he's only become more Batman-like, which is not a good thing.

I disagree, these past three episodes without the Arrow really suffered and were mediocre at best, solely because there was no Arrow. I love Diggle, but the show never gives him anything to do which sucks because he is way better than Arsenal. I disagree with your opinion because Felicity is terrible. I'm not who thinks her acting stinks and that's why she sucks, I just hate how she is written. She comes off as a total bitch to me rather than someone who cares.
This season has suffered in my opinion because there is no "big bad villain", and has sort of gone back to season 1's "bad guy of the week". The flashbacks have also been fairly weak compared to when he was on the Island.

on the new episodes of arrow, why is diggle watching laural fight vinnie jones ? he's the bad ass of the crew and she cant hardly fight

Woah.
Marvel got some of the rights of Spider Man tonight. He will be featured in a random Marvel movie and will get his own movie later on. Sony still has some rights to him, but he will be part of the MCU for the movies. Kevin Feige is basically working with Amy Pascal on him.

He is being recast as well.

I liked Garfield. Kinda sucks but it's a plus for just about everything else. It really sucks that Garfield was truly an amazing spiderman in the midst of a terrible movie franchise. (I liked them though.)
Civil War gonna be gud doh.

I can imagine that is exactly what he did. Because he probably saw the news on twitter like me and realized that he doesn't have a job now.
It's crazy how this went down this late at night. You know Marvel was just to excited to sleep on it and announced it tonight.

inb4 Sony takes him back and I get sad again.

Sad thing is Garfields probably the right age for the Spiderman they want on screen now instead of a character half his age.

Yeah, I think he was a great Spider-Man/Peter Parker in a chit movie.
TASM 1 was alright
TASM 2 was complete garbage.
-
We need to have JK Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson.
JK Simmons is JJJ just like Downey is Tony Stark.

From those earlier hacked emails, it sounded like if a MCU-involved reboot of the Spiderman franchise were to occur (which now it is), it'll skip over the high school/origin stuff. I agree - Garfield would have been the right age for what they are planning, and he was a perfectly good spiderman stuck in a pair of bland scripts.
For everyone else involved, this is win-win. Sony probably didn't have a lot of faith in their planned spin-offs (sinister six, venom/carnage, unknown female character, and an aunt may film (no really)). Apparently now they can produce spiderman films that incorporate MCU characters.
Just realized - and my mind is full of fuk: Conceivably, we could now get an Iron Man 4 with Norman Osborne in the Iron Patriot suit. Maybe Sony Pictures can help get Mel Gibson on board to direct it (RDJ's ultimatum for making IM4). They could do the slow burn on Osborne, have him here and there (and main villain in the first MCU-Spiderman movie), and basically make him an evil version of Tony Stark.

It may happen. Simmons was on Howard Stern last week, and Howard asked him if he was going to do more Spiderman films and he said "I actually just heard that's a possibility" or something along those lines.
Freaking A, what great news all around to start off the day.

Last Spider-Man related post frome me:

My problem with Garfield was his statement about making Peter Parker gay or at least bi sexual.

Is he definitely being recast? Now all we need is Wolverine to come over from Fox….. Imagine?

Nah, Wolvie should stay with Fox, I think they're doing a great job with X-Men. They should give marvel the F4 rights tho.

brb Skrulls

brb Doctor Doom

It's not official that he's been recast - only that Sony's 4 upcoming ASM-universe movies have been scrapped. The previous Sony hacks did say that Marvel/Disney want to reboot the character though.
Willing to bet the venom symbiote will be introduced via a Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Marvel/Disney don't have the working relationship with Fox like they do with Sony. They tried to work out a deal a few years ago to bring back Galactus and the Silver Surfer, and Fox wouldn't budge.

Some interesting implications of this.
Before, imo there was no was cap3 had a chance to compete with Batman V Superman but if spiderman appears in civil war, who knows?
Also, I kinda hope this pushes dc to release a BvS teaser sooner rather than later.

Not sure if srs. Maybe you meant that the other way around? Marvel has the upper hand with the general public, and the better track record.

Dead serious. This is batman and superman together in live action for the first time ever plus wonderwoman and who knows how many other cameos. I would bet my life it would have beat cap 3 in the box office.
Anyway, curious to who you all think should be cast as MCU's spiderman.
-
I agree that Batman v Superman could have made more money (if it was actually a good movie). I think which ever movie is better is going to make more money, silly concept I know. Character recognition can only get you so far, where the huge money comes from is repeat viewings (for domestic anyway).
In my opinion I think based solely on character the most popular for a movie audience would be Batman > Spiderman > Iron Man > Superman > Captain America > Thor.
I think both movies make a huge amount of money just because Batman and Spiderman (even if he isn't in it that much). They could be terrible and would still break $120m opening.
