Thinking of buying a Puuko:

not my thing, sheath looks like an arabian shoe. :)
Sold off a bunch of my knives to fund a different purchase. Also have the wifey talked into tentatively buying me a pair of backwoods customs for my bday. Woot.
I did pick up one knife to offset all the stuff I sold, got a heft 4. It's excellent. Perfect medium sized knife. The blade on the heft 6 looks too thin imho.
This is basically my thread now so I will post my own knife porn. :P

this pertains to my interests
got it on the forum cheap a few weeks back. Right now im trying to decide if im replacing with a matched pair or keep that one. If I keep it Im going to try and replace the stainless pins with black micarta ones which means I'll probably **** it up and have to wrap duct tape on it. :)
I discovered koster knives today. He has some nice looking knives. Customer service seems a little suspect.

That is a good price, its about 15$ under best internet prices. They do make an OD knife and the handles on the DT blade could be considered OD.

its 15$ under the internet price for a brand new knife that comes with a sheath. it does not indicate anywhere this knife comes with a sheath and also its used. the picture shows a black blade and a grey micarta handle. i doubt the guy has an OD handle unless he also bought a desert tan blade took the handle off and put it on the black one. like i said i would rather buy a brand new knife from someone reputable and know what im getting. the guy in that listing didnt even takes the time to take a actual picture of the product he is selling he just took stock photos from another website.

nope. its the most comfortable handle on any knife I have held to date. Bought that one to give to my best friend for his birthday but now he's saying he doesn't want it so....

So now I'm shopping for an ECD knife for the girlfriend. I'm looking at the SOG Trident because she's on the local fire department and going to school for her EMT certification. I was thinking the cord cutter feature on the Trident would work for cutting seat belts on vehicle extractions.
Thoughts?

if you are going to buy a knife for seat belt cutting, i highly suggest the Benchmade 915 Triage

It has a retractable seatbelt cutter and not just a notch in the side of the handle. Its ALSO has a window breaker on the end which can help even more in vehicle extractions
just found this blade on cutlery shoppe for only $105??!!! used promo code nutnfancy and benchmade code for 25% off figured id let every1 know cant let this 1 pass by get em while there hot
nutnfancy is a great reviewer and i trust his videos. Benchmade is such a great knife maker
here is the link to buy
http://www.cutleryshoppe.com/915triage-blackg-10scales-dynamictripleutilitytoolknifesafetyhookandglassbreaker-1.aspx
jsut put in both of those promo codes listed above to knock of 25% and the cost of shipping
Hmm, that Benchmade is nice, but more than I was wanting to spend. Thanks for the suggestion! I'll keep that one in mind.

aus8 steel is pretty crappy steel. Its a 30 dollar knife imho. I'd get a kershaw cryo in the price range or spyderco tenacious. If you want to go higher there are a lot of nice kershaws all the way up to the ZT line.
