That's why I can never fully align myself with Libertarian thought: it sounds nice, but unfortunately runs counter to basic human nature.
It doesn't work at all without a very strong community presence that minimizes idiots reproducing or participating in society. Small towns are very good at this. Big cities get the degenerates who cannot self-sustain.
Tyranny of the majority.
The majority don't even vote.
And being in the majority doesn't mean you are right. I am sure I don't need to get into history/actual events to show examples, and we probably aren't ready for such a political discussion in here at this time.

There isn't much of a discussion to be had.
The majority of people are idiots and they make life unnecessarily difficult for the rest. We can argue the finer points, but I think most of us here would support that basic premise.

When I was in Seattle, I stayed at a hotel that offered to credit you $5-10 (forgot the amount), if you "go green" and forgo the daily cleaning of your room by the hotel staff. I didn't "go green" and also accidentally checked out too late, incurring a $35 fee.

The problem is as such majority rule makes it so that a person filling a leadership roll has to be just smart enough to convince a room of near deaf, dumb, and blind idiots it's not him fcking them in the backdoor.

That is one way of looking at it.
And I'm sure that perspective is pretty popular.

One might argue that a small minority are used as an excuse by those in power to unnecessarily restrict/infringe upon the Rights and Liberties of the many.
BRB, literally 1 in 300 million does something terrible...take away Rights and Liberties from the other 299,999,999.
Except it isn't really from the 299,999,999, because those who would do terrible things won't abide by the laws anyway, so it is really only restricting the law abiding who were never going to do anything out of line anyway.
-
Together we can do anything: face any foe, overcome any obstacle. Yeah, climb any mountain, rent any video, dial any phone. And not just our phone, other people's phones. Decent phones, God-fearing phones, phones that everybody else gave up on, but we knew better because we were a team!

The majority is always wrong when it isn't your majority. Not really a groundbreaking revelation. Our mechanism of democracy is pliable/messy by design.
You participate and assemble using your platform. The platform which the majority of the country sees most fit prevails.
Don't like it? Start your own platform to overhaul and/or influence the way system works.
If you have the support and logistical backing, nothing within our governmental system is stopping your from enacting the changes you see fit.

I mean, like, in another 3-4 posts it will clearly be about guns.

You can't regulate good behavior, but thats' the challenge the church and government always try to tackle. It becomes a simple "what can I get away with" mind-set. I much prefere the greek philosophy of arete that was a deep part of their culture. It was such a great thing that it took centuries of degeneration to end it. The modern world is not as durable. It will only take 2-3 generations to end the greatness accomplished in america from 1850-1950.

Your ability to pull out FG/Simpsons quote relevant to the discussion of thin-air is as equally sad as me doing the same thing with Seinfeld.
Not a sermon, just a thought.

Except we aren't a democracy.
And if you think the majority is right/acceptable simply by being the majority, we as a country have some things we know as the 'founding documents' that perhaps you should read sometime.

Thank you Commander Semantics.
You know exactly what I meant and it's quite obvious this is a single issue discussion for you.
Keep driving that rhetoric you've been pumping out for the past 2-3 months. You have done/are doing unbelievable damage to your long term position.
