Yes but in football you try to hit people in bull riding it's more of a risk of the sport. None the less, i won't deny bullriding is extreme.

Yea come to think of it, why is Bull Riding not included with this?
Imagine sitting on 1600 lbs of raw, savage brutality that wants you dead...
*shudders*

Yeah I agree, I was just showing the comparison of the two "roughest" sports in America voted. I still agree, when its hitting, NFL is awesome, but add in roughest, wow Bull Riding is Awesome!
that first hit in the rugby video was hardcore, I'd go
1.rugby
2.hockey
3.football
People misunderstand the concept here. It's hardest hitting. If it were roughest NFL football wouldn't even be top 3. But in the NFL they hit the hardest, then they get a 40 second recovery period, a commercial time-out, formation substitutions, etc.
here's a better video of bull riding, holy ****!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zw55QP_pFL4
It's NFL football all the way
The "no pads" argument for rugby just doesn't hold up
NFL players are alot stronger and bigger than rugby players and are moving from a standstill to full speed on every play. This means the amount of force they are hitting with is much, much greater than rugby, where the movement is more fluid and endurance is more of a factor over just raw power.
Also how many times you see somebody get facemasked or blast someone with their helmet, or someone laying someone out with a shoulder tackle? POP! So the protection can often have the opposite effect, and even still probably every NFL quarterback has had a concussion at some point in their career, many with multiples.
Sure rugby is a rough sport but the force with which NFL players hit is insane.
Are you fukin kidding about rugby? the AFL **** was hardcore, they don't even tackle, just.....run into you.
NFL by far IMO, is the hardest hitting overall, so many have died and other become paralyzed because of hits...
NFL hits are harder

good, clean hit, that was perfect right there

Thats awesome too, and good for Kariya for coming back to the game and scoring a goal. I remember seeing the hit, but I forgot he came back and scored, and I never saw that fan reaction, that was nuts. Hes alot tougher then I gave him credit for, that hit was HUGE.
hardest hitting sports are 1.Rugby 2.AFL 3.NFL
you don't get guys that can hit like the 300 pound offense linemen in rugby.
you don't get guys that can hit like the 300 pound offense linemen in rugby.
the majority of hard hits come from linebackers and safety's not linemen unless it's on the QB
Yeah whoever says rugby is the hardest hitting is retarded. There's no doubt it's a tought sport but the hits are far from as hard as the NFLs
I think NFL football has the hardest hits. The athletes are probably the best in the world. I think Aussie football or rugby is more hardore though. I'd rather be hit by a rugby player than some genetic freak of nature NFL player.
you don't get guys that can hit like the 300 pound offense linemen in rugby.
Ya...because that 300lb o.l would be useless and look like a tool playing rugby.
Apples to Oranges.
I voted Rugby, NFL tries to be tougher by allowing random people to hit eachother who aren't in the play, but in the end rugby is a harder game in my opinion.
Why is soccer and basketball even on there?
I love soccer, but it's not a violent sport...and wouldn't be called a pussy sport if it weren't for those asshats in the video. "touch, trip *note wide mouth, look of anguish*, roll, cry, magically recover".
either way i lolled at the soccer video.

MMA Anyone?
i voted AFL....they elbow eachother in the face at full speed. no pads. thats some hardcore ****.
Probably the hardest hitting would be NFL, huge guys with plenty of padding & helmets, who are trained to play for short bursts of time and use alot of power.
but... rugby by far takes the most toll on the body and is the toughest of the sports. 2*40 mins of continous play with no padding and rucking... not playing for 10 seconds then have a 3 minute rest as in NFL.
hardest hitting with single hits = NFL
overall hardest hitting = rugby
What morons would say Rugby?
The question isn't which sport gets the most injuries, hurts the most, or is the roughest. It's what is the hardest hit. Why do you think NFL players wear pads? So they don't get seriously injured because they get hit so hard. NFL players are a hell of a lot bigger and stronger than most rugby players (I say most because it depends on position of the person in each sport) and a major point of football is to tackle and hit people hard.
Hockey, if it didn't have strict rules on what was allowed might beat football, but the way each sport is now I dunno. Hockey players pick up lots of speed and do hit very hard at times... however, that's just sometimes, football has harder hits more often.
its rugby LEAGUE god dammit not rugby (union)
all those big hit videos are from league
ive played both codes at high levels league is by far harder hitting because in union its allmost allways a surrendering tackle or else you lose the ball
bull fighting, when it goes wrong.
Those are just games, I voted other...
1. Motorcycle road racing
2. Car racing
3. MMA
4. Bullfighting
5. Boxing
Screw football and those games, tumbling across the earth at 150+ MPH in only a lightly padded leather suit into a wall just to get mashed by your own bike is gonna hurt/injure/maim/kill. And that's not to mention Irish road racing such as Isle of Mann TT where you race inches between buildings, stone walls, and barbed wire fences. Google it.
1st "game" would be Hockey.
