They burnt down a police station. Nicely done.
Is it smart for them to be doing all of this during a "pandemic?"
NO!! It's NEVER smart. It's actually the dumbest thing to do!!
Why do some people think rioting will help any cause or make any kind of "positive" statement??
It won't. Innocent lives will be lost, on all sides.
I understand people are angry. But THIS is NOT the way to handle it!
-
why is the police not shooting them with rubber bullets??? They burned down a police station this is getting crazy
-
Racist president Trump is not making things any better. This president got to have some serious mental illness.

Curious why cnn reporter who happened to be black was arrested. Did the mayor order this as a stunt?
-
it’s not the way to handle it but what is the way to handle it, genius?
the problem goes way beyond police shootings. extreme voter suppression by extreme racist trump is a far worse problem yet republicans are doing everything they can to make it worse
I never see things as political issues. I see them as socially moral/ethical issues.
And I don't know enough facts, so I refrain from offering any simple solutions.

Fuk those people, blocking traffic isnt helping their cause.

I understand that and partially agree with it in a manner of speaking. We can all condemn something but not offering solutions doesn't move anything forward either.
The cops involved in the initial incident with Floyd are awful. Protesting them and the DA are all good. Looting destroys unrelated innocent bystanders. Our President saying things like the shooting will start is just another log on the fire.
Some folks believe that violence has been how this country came to be and how significant change occured for hundreds of years. I grew up hearing stories about the legal inequalities my parents faced as kids and my grandparents faced for way longer. There are longterm issues built into all of this that aren't being solved with letters to congressman imo.

Riots and looting are the answer then? Like I said before, hopefully these businesses refuse to open back up when this is all over. Hopefully the city, state and the feds say, "**** it, let them clean up.the mess themselves."

Okay, its not like people in that neighborhood need the police or anything.....
Can't imagine the backlog right now.

Don't give them anything, **** em. Like I said before as well, those businesses, hopefully they don't reopen.
Also hope the police there are reactive for the next couple of years. Just answer your calls.

No I literally said in my post that looting is bad. It destroys innocent bystanders. Cops are needed in many areas. My Grandfather (black WW2 vet) was a cop for 30 years. I'm saying that looting is bad but protesting peacefully is fine. The politeness of asking for injustices to stop won't do anything.

Don't worry about injustice when the police are reactive again after this.

Not being argumentative here but clarify what you mean by this. I'm missing something most likely obvious.

yea im sure target wont reopen they hate money.
what is it about being a cop that makes you feel that you enforce some greater moral good rather than enforce the laws of your niche municipality. why do you care how cops are treated in minnesota you dont work up there. why you feel your job is some type of brotherhood rather than just punchin a clock.
i am a engineer and i give talks on structural failures- i love snitchin on other engineers.
it seems to me like a lot of cops are indoctrinated para-militaristically and they are unable to maintain some ironic distance to their work life. they feel like soldiers.
