el oh el
no thanks ;)
while looking for used GPU's on Craigslist, I came across this gem:

"It's all cased in a milk crate because I was too lazy to order a case when I bought it. Runs games fine, doom, cod, battlefield, overwatch, all at 60fps + on ultra."
I might actually go offer that dude $200 cash and buy it lmao.
lulz

I'm actually really hoping the guy hasn't sold it yet, and that he responds to me.
That setup looks right up my alley. so serious lol.

so I finally took a look inside my current build, and realized the inner components are even more red/black than I initially thought lol.
Thinking I may need to switch my color scheme.
Any recommendations for mechanical keyboards and mice that are black or red colored? Preferably wired.
I'll be selling off my Razer Naga and Black Widow keyboard to match the color scheme XD

Threw the GTX 1070 in tonight. HUGE difference between the 760 considering I am on a 1440p monitor. Tested out Doom, GTA V, Witcher 3, Fallout 4, MGS V and FarCry 4. All handled 1440p maxed out no problem, although GTA V was dipping into the 40's at times.
I gatta say though I don't know if its just that I was used to ****ty frame rate and being forced to game in 1080 instead of 1440 on a lot of games but they just look different, almost too smooth now, like I almost was having tunnel vision, kinda hard to describe, especially in Doom, I felt like I was zoomed out in a sense and it just looked too smooth. The graphics in Doom were by far the best in my opinion.

I did some light searching and couldn't find it so I'll just wait my lazy ass for you to post again lol
The dude with the milk crate build responded to my e-mail, so I'll probably make the hour drive tomorrow and go check it out atleast. If it works and he's willing to sell it for under $300, I'll probably buy it.
I also just spent $400 on amazon in parts for the new build lol.
And now I'm looking at one of the Razer Naga molten edition mice, and thinking a Corsair Strife red keyboard to match.
Gonna be an expensive couple of days for sure

I pulled the trigger today boyos, got 6700k. Lost my patience waiting for AMD Zen. Time to lay down and rot Phenom II X4 940.

Still deciding between GTX 1070 or RX 480, will using ATI 5850 for the time being. 1080p for now, no 1440p yet.
did i dun goof?
also just switched to bb.com black layout... smoother but feelsweirdman.jpg

I have these, they fit my theme perfectly and they are really good.
Corsair Sabre RBG - I set all the LEDs to red.

Wish this thing beat my EVGA 980 FTW, would buy in a heartbeat lol.

Got that feeling on BF4.
Had to turn graphics to low.
Ended up not playing it very much anyways.
Looks like the new 8GB RX 480 gets beat in nearly all tests by an OCed 970, and reference 980. Like I thought, this card is not something you want to try to run VR with, at all. Unless you want a very subpar experience, that may well leave you nauseous.

Will hold out final judgement for more benchmarks, but this is quite the performance I expected.
Yeah I watched that earlier, what a disappointment, doesn't even come close to a 980.
Even though Katy Lake comes out in a couple of months, you could have done worse, so not too bad.
The thing is I've been waiting forever... originally I wanted to wait for Zen tbh, got tired of waiting. If I was gonna wait for Kaby lake, might as well wait for Zen, but it could potentially be good as or worse than Skylake imo, noe wat im saiyan. I was also thinking about getting 5820k, but I couldn't just justify the purchase, don't do much rendering or editing and it costs about $200 cpu/mobo more where I live. Fk I am back in the game anyway. 'll just update or buy another rig for VR/1440p later. After seeing that fishy vid, might have to get a 1070 but there's still hope... need moar benchmarks..
-
Yeah, so for people who want a $250+ card, it will come down to whether you want 970 or rx480
Pretty much it's about as equal as the 970, roughly same price so not bad really. It's no 980 competition though.
-
People buying a new setup now should just go for the RX480 over the 970 anyday.
The RX480 has a better OC POV with their new toolkits, it has a never API support for VR, DX12 and so on.
All in all it's what AMD promised. Now when the drivers are optimized and OCes are out we'll probably see it just as good as a 980.
(OC as in OCing for partner cards. Everyone knows that reference cards from either producer is weaker)

Agreed, if I still had my 760 that I had last summer I would have bought the RX 480 today over the 2 year old 970.

Just looked it up, more reviews and benchmarks are out. Performance is better than 970 in most cases and cheaper.

brahs. I bought a 1080 and rise of the tomb raider and played last night. so everything runs fine 60fps+ no problems all maxd out for the first hour or so then it just crashes constantly. I narrowed it down to the texture quality. if I turn it on very high now 5-10 seconds later it crashes. high works fine. any ideas? I mean its not a huge deal but I feel like the 1080 should max it at at 2k without issues.

Mouse recommendations for fps? Looking at Rival300 and Zowie EC. Mixed reviews n the DeathAdder

I just got a Logitec G303, the reviews for fps were good, i watched one vid where a guy tested the sensor and said it was great. Tested going slowly from one end of the mouse mat to the other, and then as quick as possible and the cursor ended up in the exact same place.
I got it for FPS but havent played anything yet. Just installed it an hour ago. Feels very nice so far.
4 dpi settings, rgb lighting which can be turned off

That mouse looks great aesthetically (would match my set up), I guess I gotta feel the shape/weight in my hand. Luckily they have a display at my local shop. I've heard good things about the new logitech sensors. Basically optical/zero acceleration is what im after, with good feel in hand and small/lightweight (currently using the g600 mmo mouse)
