I also have a mirror behind me in my work from home setup. Yesterday I was in a meeting and thought it would be really comfy to put my legs up on the table, since they can't see it anyway, right? Wrong, you can totally see it in the reflection. Moreover you could totally see I was wearing my fuzzy furry slippers. Then when I looked closely, I realized you can see my bodybuilding trophies on the shelf, which to the untrained eye just look like statues of naked women with really perky bewbs and azzes.
Friday I got the promotion I have been waiting for years, so this week I have been trying really hard to look professional so... that went well.
lmao.... too funny.
Big Congrats on the promo.. Good for you girl.

Got a note from my insurance company, "we're cutting your auto premium by 15% as part of our response to this crisis and out of our good nature etc.."
I didn't think much about it until I was telling my son about it, then it hit me, hardly anyone is driving anymore. They should be cutting it by 50%!!

I drive the same amount, roads are open but it’s likley less safe. The people on the roads drive like its fukin Mario cart.

Working from home is literal torture for me. I wake up dreading it every single morning. If you told me before all this I'd be working from home for a couple months I'd be thrilled, but I could have never imagined the amount of meaningless frustrating BS work the company could come up with. Keep reminding myself of my friends who have been laid off, looking at the "bright" side is the only thing dragging me through. For the first time in my life I feel like I need a drink immediately once the work day ends.

My missus had an option to work from home a few years ago and thought it would be great. She hated it. So I guess it isn't for everyone. Hope it gets better for you.

I am done with homeschooling, we are switching to trade school. All 4 of of my boys are going to be bartenders.

I have had normal work from home days plenty of times and they have more positives than negatives. I guess it all depends on the type of job. I just feel like right now many companies are uneasy with the feeling of everyone being home getting paid and are creating meaningless work. That's what drives me nuts. Let me do productive work, don't schedule me into countless trainings and meetings that are nothing but a waste of my time because you feel the need to fill everyone's schedule.
Again, I am ranting. Happy to still be getting a paycheck, but fawk I am miserable. LoL
-
Ranting is ok and essential at times LOL..The missus missed the interaction with co workers more than anything, I couldn't do it, I can't even train at home lol I am very easily distracted.. oh look a squirrel..

I was hoping I wasn't the only one noticing this. On a highway where the speed limit is 65 and 5 lanes, you have people going over 90 mph, people going 75 mph, people going the speed limit, and people going 55 mph. It's definitely less safe.

Y0u should see and hear the crazy motorcycle riders, it is like the Fast and Furious here.

I work in a field of data science and looking at the statistics that are coming out of all these countries - man, it’s such a mess. Our governments are making data-driven decisions based on bad data. France reported 61% spike in cases (yes, because they are now including data from retirement homes). New York added 3700 cases (well, yes it’s because they are testing more). Some countries producing false data, some don’t report. We are basically operating in a blind. And when I say we, I mean us, regular folks too. And then the media picks this “badly reported data” and puts their spin on it. Holy clusterf@ck.
You don't need Covid for that to happen. A few years ago a manager where I was working connected into a conf call with a lot of us present, from his laptop working from home on his kitchen table. He was wearing just pants and was a reasonably obese and very hairy older man, I don't know what happened but about 10 minutes into the call he accidentally added video then there was about 5 seconds until he realized then he leapt on the laptop and shut the lid and left the call. It was a running joke for some time!
I still can't frog stand (crow stand), I constantly fall backwards or forwards and narrowly avoid face-planting but today Covid has taught me to cut my own hair with a beard trimmer (all hair trimmers sold out on Amazon and elsewhere). It took longer than I expected (maybe as beard trimmers are small) but wasn't at all difficult, as long as same length short all over is the goal.
Cut mine a couple of days ago (already had hair trimmers). Needed the GF to clean up a bit in back, but am quite pleased with the results and likely won't go back to paying for a hair cut.

I have a good buddy that I have handled a bunch of things for. Out of the blue today I got a giant Ohama Steaks box loaded with tenderloins, sirloins and burgers along with sides and appetizers.
We dont like to waste things around our house. Taking the time to teach your kids how to not just throw things away, but rather find something purposeful for them. So everytime we have gotten some Ohama steaks we not only enjoy the steaks, but we find uses for the packaging as well!
Now....what can we do with a nice chunk of dry ice?..... Well of course,....make a bomb out of it! :D

He ain't the only one, some mindless policy following nitwit once refused selling a half-dozen 50cent burgers to a very hungry strongman for $20 because of "policy". HA!
