Sled day. It’s a single focus endeavor for Me. The sled is heavy (sled 100# plus 305# plates). The route is 600 feet, up a high-friction concrete 300 foot driveway and return. It’s a thing that takes time. Shove an explosive 30 steps then pause. Repeat until done. Six hundred feet takes me 3-3.5 hours. Or more depending upon the temperature. Or if cool enough, less. Push time is minimal. Pause time not so much. Lots of them. One gallon of water drunk regardless of temperature. Why do this? Why? I’m 75 on 9/11/24 and “my answer is simple*,” because I want to and frankly I like strength and filling my days of good things. Amen. (* this was a pithy saying of a great friend at American PetroLog LLC that passed away six years ago. Chuck Toledo. A real hero of the business. Influential at American PetroLog LLC. Many miss him, I sure do).
