The Catalyst: 5 Books That Will Change The Way You Live Bodybuilding.com Hey Team, Happy Mother’s Day to the strong moms who lift us up. We’ve got a special episode of the Bodybuilding.com Podcast with return guest Kristen Lettenberger, DPT, as we talk through training during pregnancy and postpartum. Check it out here. Coming in hot with the educational material today. I’ve put together five of my favorite books that will help you feel, look and live healthier. ⬇️ Atomic Habits, by James Clear: The most practical read about building and maintaining good habits. Clear outlines four main points to help habits stick; make it obvious, make it attractive, make it easy and make it satisfying. By following these guidelines, you’ll help train your brain to develop the structure and routine you’re seeking. Outlive, by Dr. Peter Attia: Containing actionable takeaways that help you increase your chance at a longer, healthier life, Outlive places longevity at the forefront of your wellness journey. Attia teaches readers how to go from “medicine 2.0” which entails treating illnesses upon diagnosis versus “medicine 3.0” which is geared towards proactiveness and preventative health measures. If you want to learn how to hack yourself, this is the book to read. Peak, By Anders Ericsson: The definitive guide to learning any skill, from learning guitar to at-home cooking, Peak demonstrates the concept of purposeful practice. Teaching your body and mind new things requires more than repetition, it requires meticulous studying. Ericsson challenges Malcom Gladwell’s theory of 10,000 hours equating to mastery, and suggests that it depends entirely on the activity you’re setting out to conquer. Why We Sleep, by Dr. Matthew Walker: Contains everything you wanted to know about sleep along with facts you likely didn’t know existed. Why We Sleep showcases how our nightly slumber is linked to consolidating memory, increasing creativity, repairing muscle, stabilizing mood and lowering risk of chronic disease and illness. Sleep is the secret to longevity, health and productivity. Learn the ins and outs on how to obtain quality sleep hygiene. Breath, by James Nestor: Each of us has untapped potential that lives within our breath. Through science-backed research, Nestor explains why nasal breathing and a slower average breathing rate are the two keys to breathing better and thus, increasing overall health. Unlocking healthy breathwork habits has a direct correlation to
