Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. Is it common to drop 9 reps between the first and last set of an exercise?

I find it amazing how my reps can drop so much from fatigue after just a few sets. As an example, in my last triceps workout on db lying extensions my first set was 15 reps and I stopped 1 or 2 reps before failure. Then the second set I could only get 9, then 7 and in the forth set only 6 reps,...

Especially when wearing workout pants, my knees slip and slide on the pad when I am using the assisted pull up machine. are reverse crunch/leg raises and hip raises/toes to ceiling bad for the spine?

I've been doing lying reverse crunches and hip raises as one of my ab exercises. I don't get any back pains from doing them, but the nature of movements made me wonder if they'd do any harm to my spinal health (esp. the lumbar spine)

Currently use a calf raise machine, and the weights don’t go up in small increments. Jumps from 75-90 lbs for example. So I’m upping reps before I up the weight between workouts. But should I worry about the total volume lifted or just worry about heavier weights? For example: Week 1: 75...

How is the blocky, wide midsection look achieved?

I'm not asking this because I want it, i just want to know why some people actually end up with such a wide waist causing them to not have an impressive v taper.
