Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Clicking sound in my shoulder

When I'm doing low to high cable fly for chest, my right shoulder makes a clicking sound, however there is no pain. Only when I do these it makes the sound, once I raise my arms. What could this mean? Does it even mean anything? Should I stop doing these?

How to get my shoulder muscles to pop out?

I've been doing the following exercises for the past months: - shoulder press 4 sets - front raise 4 sets - side raise 4 sets. Finish with 3 sets of shrugs and 3 sets of upright row. I want my shoulders to get fuller and rounder but instead of that they are only getting wider.

Bar somehow slipped out on a squat, wtf? Back hurts now

I was doing my 1RM on squats today, and I got one successful rep. For some retarded reason (I'm an idiot why did I try) I went down for a second rep and I am pretty sure I got it all the way up, or part of the way up. And somehow the bar rolled backwards off my back and I strained my back during...

I don't go heavy, I use rather light weight (max 22 lbs) and do 3-5 sets...

First rep squatting is the hardest?

Anyone else notice that the first rep is harder than the next few? It's almost like after the first rep I get into a rhythm but the first is always slow, deliberate and I almost stall at the bottom (below parallel). I'm guessing it has to do with the stretch reflex not being used on the first...

Why am I not feeling as much on dumbell press than bench press?

A quick question. Whenever I do bench press I hold VERY wide and that often makes my chest hurt afterwards, but however. Whenever I do dumbell presses I never feel the pump or any "pain" in the chest afterwards, Why is that so?
