Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Time for a deload? Or continue progression?

Apologies for the wall of text. I hope this is one piece of the puzzle that makes it come together for me. Bear with me - thanks. Ok, I’m debating what to do next. I’ve been working out for a couple years and after making mistakes and other setbacks I’ve kind of figured out what work and what...

Building Abs

Hi All, I'm curious if sit-ups are good for building abs, I'm not looking to lose body fat and that's not what my question is, I just want to know how good sit-ups really are for growing abs. Thanks, Kris

Getting bored of squats; bad idea to sub in leg press for time being?

For the longest time, I really only did squats and deadlifts with the occasional leg curl for lower body training. Since the last few months of 2019, I took my squat from 285 lbs to 340 lbs. My leg development was fairly decent but in that time period, I simply grew bored of the exercise. Would it...

Is 5x5 too much volume?

1st set is like 6 or 7/10 intensity. By the last set I’m completely dead. Takes me like 30 minutes including warmup. Always get light headed, and barely have energy left for accessories. I’m used to less volume like 3x5 or even 3x3 which I find much more manageable and enjoyable, but I...

You can only pick one exercise per muscle group...

Once again the workout and exercise forums are kinda dead, so let’s see what exercises y’all would pick if you had to choose 1 lower, 1 upper pull and 1 upper push. Mine would be a trap bar deadlift, hammer chest press and a seated cable row.

Loss of practice with flat bench caused it to regress?

Would you consider knee wraps as cheating?

I personally don’t know how I feel about them. I like to do most of my base/buildup training without them then do a few months of adding lots of weight to the bar and getting used to the knee wraps again in prep for a 1rpm PR. One thing for sure is that whenever I’m in or finish a training block...

If I only did hammer curls, what results can be expected?

I normally alter between hammers and regular DB curls but I got a minor injury where regular db curls irritate my wrists. Despite this, I always enjoyed hammer curls more; any major difference in terms of muscle building? Pictures to compare would be helpful

Best way to train for mass?

I was wondering what the best way to train for mass is? More specifically my pecs and upper body would I have to lift heavy and lower reps of lighter and higher reps or a good in between? Thank you very much.

I was just wondering if this squat form was correct and it was safe to squat this low with a barbell. Could someone review the below video and let me know if the lower back rounding at the bottom is going to cause issue? Also, how's my front squat form?
