Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Calling anyone interested in a friendly strength competition for this spring/summer

Last fall, a few of us took part in a competition/collaborative effort where we uploaded our lifts and challenged each other to greater progress. It was fun, and to the best of my knowledge all of us made improvements. My squat is finally out of pathetic territory but still needs a lot of work...

Heavy Barbell Rows

At a twice per week frequency, I’ve been messing with a 5 or 6-8 rep range for barbell rows for a long time. It’s getting pretty stale so I thought it’d be interesting to vary it, say 9-12 reps one day and 4-6 the other. I’m not sure if bb rows in that latter range is practical, given that I have a...

10 minute run a day to improve my cardio

I used to be a wrestler but COVID shut down all of the teams. My cardio has gone down quite a bit. If I was to do a 10 minute run everyday which would be longer than a wrestling match would it help me be able to last longer in the match when it starts up again? Or should I do other forms of cardio?

Are Static Stretches before Exercise Better than Not Stretching?

Good morning, I read it's best to do static stretches after exercising. Some days, however, that limits the time I have to do static stretches. Though not ideal, is doing static stretches before exercise (example: Throughout the day) still better than not doing them at all? Thank you for...

Question Trap Bar Row?

Anyone do these? Tried them for the first time today as I heard it's a great lower-back friendly row variation but the range of motion felt awkward, like I was hitting my body unless I pulled at a specific angle. Got a hell of a pump though. Are they worth doing?

Has my deadlift form improved or do I still need to improve it?

I've been practicing romanian deadlifts and it has taught me to move my hips back. So the question is do I still need to improve my conventional deadlift? The reason I'm posting this is because I haven't had any good luck finding any good coaches to coach me, either they were too costly or they...

Hip flexor pain squats

So I've made a thread before about a friction burn kind of pain when doing heavy front squats In the front of my hips. I've now been getting the same pain on back squats. Am I overusing drop sets?

Hi, I've got into a routine where I tend to use / abuse drop sets as when I don't it feels like I'm not really working the muscles as well. For example on Chest / Tricep day I'll start with the rope pushdown and start at 20kg and do as many reps as possible until failure then drop to 15kg and...
