Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Machines that work two antagonist muscles

Just a curiosity... Why aren't there (or are there?) machines that can work two antagonist muscles or two mucles in the same exercise? For example, a machine with two levers or something like this: - a hammer chest machine that on the negative movement works as a seated row for back - a...

Very weak bench for level of development?

Hey guys, My chest has always been my best muscle group. I had some mass there even when I was a skinny twig (well, some of you would still consider me that :D) and it would grow even when I didn't focus on it at all (for example, tricep dips as only push exercise). My triceps are fine and my...

Substitute Kettlebell for Dumbbell? Which exercises?

There’s overlap between KBs and DBs for some things. Like doing lateral raises with a 20# KB is probably the same as a 20# DB. Shrugs must be the same I’d bet. I haven’t tied it yet, but chest flies might be overlappable. Not sure if the KB would rest against your wrist in a way is uncomfortable...

Best order of train full-body ?

Hello, i have a question. I train classic full-body training 4x per week. I just wondering, if it matters if i will do all push movements/pull movements/legs movements together in that training, or is it better to rotate it like push movement/pull movement/push movement/pull movement/legs ? Thanks

Close stance squat for quads ?

Hello, i have a question. I train at home, and for legs, i do mostly shoulder-width stance squats. I want to target quads a little bit more, so my question is, will close stance squat target quads more ? I mean really feet without any space between them, thanks for answer

Is adding volume a good substitute to adding more weight?

I recently started the Fierce 5 full body dumbbell plan after doing a homemade bro split routine, only problem is my limit to weight at home. Dumbbell shoulder press: How much weight?

So before i started doing these, i heard that this exercise didn't require a whole lot of weight, as this muscle is small and prone to injury. 25-30lbs was the suggested upper limit. Anyway, i'm guessing this was BS because after months at around this weight, i've not seen any significant mass,...

How long does it take for you to increase curl weight?

I am just curious, how long did it take for you to increase your dumbell curl weight up by 5 lbs? (assuming you took proper nutrition and rest days etc). I have personally found that for me to progress from 15 lb to 30 lb was very rapid, i would say that maybe it just took me 3-4 months to increase...

At what point do pull-ups lose effectiveness??

I have to replace my pulldowns with pull-ups. So if I’m doing 3 sets of 8 wide grip, i can do the first set without breaks. Second set, can’t pull myself up as high The last 5-8 reps. Then 3rd set I need a full break halfway through. What would be the best way to incorporate my pull-ups now...
