Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Deadlifting without touching the floor

What do you guys think to lowering the bar just before touching the floor then returning back up? I was wondering if it had any benefit for hypertrophy as for one you're not losing any tension by placing it on the floor then returning from a deadstop and 2 you wouldn't get any cheat with it...

Hello, i have a question. I train 3x per week fullbody training and for my triceps i do weighted dips. Question I think something's wrong with my reverse hyper extension.

I'm trying to do this exercise. I'm using a bench just like this guy is. ZeRsNzFcQLQ But I don't feel any tension in my glutes or legs or anything. All of the struggle is in my upper body, trying to hold onto the bench. If it wasn't for that, I could hyper extend forever. Which leads me to...

SQUATS: form over weight?

I'm getting back in the gym with an upper/lower split 4 days a week (after doing a month of full body with linear progression). I was doing some squats yesterday and I set out to get 3 sets with 70kg for 4-6 reps. I got 6-5-5 but my form was questionable - a little wonky at times, not hitting...

Getting weaker on chin ups after getting back to the gym?

Is it reasonable to get weaker at pull/chin ups if you forgo them in favor of rows and lat pulldowns? When my gym closed due to COVID, I was able to do sets of 5.
