Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Squatting as a beginner

I'm 16 and I've been working out for about 4-5 months now and I have consistently skipped legs for the past few weeks (an impressive feat i know) but I'm going to get back into it. However I have never squatted once in my life and I'm planning to begin soon, does anyone have any tips on squatting...

Thumbs up What Do Y’all Work Out on MONDAY?

I’ve started moving away from chest day mondays because benches at my school are overly crowded and why does it matter I do chest Monday? Is there any benefit besides getting a large muscle group out of the way in the start of the week? I like doing shoulders on Monday :P

Smile energy surge post workout

I have been back using a 5 x 5 system for the last few months.Every time I use this setup, I have an enormous energy surge throughout my whole mind & body. I don't ever experience this with my other routines ex. 4 sets of 8 or 3 sets of 10-12. Seems like everytime I get around to doing heavier...

Are lunges primarly a glutes exercise?

I ask this because when I do them I only get DOMS on my glutes and not my legs, unlike when I do squats, in which I clearly feel the work is mainly focused on the quads.

Why don't people do 7 reps, 9 reps, 11 reps, etc for a set?

It's always either "x" sets of 6 reps, 8 reps, 10 reps, 12 or 15 reps. What's wrong with "x" sets of 7, 9, 11, 13 or 14 reps? Lol, just wondering.

Squatting With Long Femurs

I've been watching the Exercises section ever since I figured out how to squat with my long femurs. I see a lot of "help my squat!" threads that follow a common theme: OP: "can you check my squat form? Also, why does my center of gravity keep going onto my toes?" OP's video: a squat above...

Previously I did 4 sets of 20 with 20kg dumbells and I did feel the burn. How do you guys train calves, how...

Shoulders and legs on same day or split into separate days?

So my current routine has me working my shoulders and legs on the same day. However, whenever I do legs first I'm too puffed out to do anything else. Question Vertical Leg Press vs. Regular Leg Press | Less Weight vs. More Weight

Has anyone done a vertical leg press and noticed that you cannot lift nearly the same amount of weight that you could on a regular leg press? From what I read this is due to the angle. Any thoughts / opinions? Just clarifying if what I am hearing is correct.

How do you train calves?

Currently I'm training my calves four times a week at the end of my workout by simply doing 4 sets of 20 reps, which is enough to make me really feel the burn by the end of it. Is this too much or not enough? I've heard on the internet that training calves more than 3 times a week is too much but...

Question I can bench more than I can squat? [form check]

Title says it all. I can bench far more than I can squat, so I'm looking for feedback on my Squat form. Here's a video of 85x5. It might look easy, but my knees were killing me afterward. I don't think I can add more weight without my form completely breaking down. I've already noticed that I'm...
