Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

I sprint on a treadmill 2 times a week. Last week I sprinted at speed 10(think its 10mph) and went almost half a mile .45 to be exact, then rested and went 1/3 mile at 11mph. At my level of capability, are these speeds to slow to be anabolic? Should I crank the speed up to 13+?

Standing-Press vs. High Incline or Seated Overhead

I'm really beginning to question the value of a standing press. You can't lift as much weight vs. seated, and especially vs. a bit of a lean back on the bench. You can work your abs separately, you can do front-squats, and really lots of other full-body lifts to build full body strength. You can't...

Close Grip Bench press form for triceps

Question just trying to get bigger and stronger, but i've formed bad bench press habbits

I'm 23, 6'4" and just hit 205. I played football from highschool to college where bench press was a big deal, but the form was not harped on as much as pwr cleans and squat technique. I know I've developed some bad benching habits.. such as occationally bouncing heavier weights, butt lifting,...

Any reason why I never feel fatigued despite training full body 5-6 x a week?

My gym reopened a month ago and ever since then, I trained full body about 5-6x a week, focusing on compund lifts and throwing in face pulls and arm work near the end. I usually rotate between horizontal push/pulls one day and vertical push/pulls the other while throwing in squats or deads near the...

Trap bar deads .... on back day or leg day?

I'm thinking of making trap bar deadlifts a regular part of my routine, but I can't figure where to program it in. I'm currently doing a push/pull/legs split. Actually, more like a pull/push/legs since I don't like doing back and legs back-to-back. Anyway, I was watching an Alan Thrall video...

Does exercise selection really matter

Obviously you want to make sure you prioritize compound movements, but for muscle growth does it really matter what exercises you choose as long as you are stimulating the muscle and progressive overloading (assuming nutrition and sleep is in check)
