Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

How Not To Lean Forward During Squatting

I'm pretty sure I lean forward too much while squatting, and no matter what I do I can't help it. It keeps me from falling backwards. How should I keep myself more straight up without falling backwards?

Is it unusual to not feel my chest being worked until AFTER a set of bench presses?

Currently running SL 5x5 right now but I am to weak to lift the bar so I work with a pair of 20ish LB dumbbells for time being, doing 5 sets of 5-8 reps. While doing the presses, I try to keep my feet on the ground and my back arched. For whatever reason, I don't feel the contraction of my pecs...

Question If I only do deadlift, what muscles will lack behind?

DB Presses....Straight up or Touch at the Top?

I've gone back and forth with this one. I see some guys, most in fact, just press straight up and others bring DB's together at the top and touch together. My first thought is touching may give a better final contraction; no? And I'm talking about chest presses; not shoulder. And I'm thinking...

Is it okay to add a few sets of lower chest cable crossovers to my chest routine?

Hi, everybody! I’m currently running Fierce 5 for the third month and I’ve noticed that I don’t get any fatigue/DOMS in my lower-chest area. I do the A and B exercises in a repeating manner (Monday A, Wednesday B, Friday A, week 1, and B-A-B on week 2). So I do chest 2 times a week on the days...

There are 2 fairly obscure exercises that I've added to my program the last 2 months that have really impacted my training in a positive way. The first is a JM press. I credit this exercise as the which broke me out a long time bench max plateau. The second is a belt squat. After 2 herniated disks,...

My goal is of course to be able to do body weight pull ups. Should I just stay on 45 lbs week after week and...
