We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Should I worry about my outer and lower pec as newbie?

Hi Currently running the reddit PPL program, I've added an extra 3 set of chest flys on the machines because I felt like chest wasn't being hit enough. I am now considering swapping out the fly for a decline bench press or for dips. I am basically lacking in the lower and outer pec right now. ...

Back Day... Controlled w/ Squeeze vs Bang-it-out

Hey guys, Just had a decent back day. Its my third gym sesh in three days, so I was feeling a little fatigued. Rest day tomorrow for sure. I noticed that many back workouts can either be done very controlled, with 1) minimum trunk movement and a squeeze at the end or 2) leaning back,...

Can I gain muscle with dips and pull ups? (Female)

I am a 5’8 133 pound female and my gym has recently shut down due to covid once l again :/ I just invested in a pull up bar and have only gotten 4 reps for pull ups/chin ups. I usually do like 5x4 and pause at the bottom. Same goes with dips. Since these two compound exercises are pretty still hard...

Fasted Running Cause Muscle Loss?

I usually run 4-5 miles in the morning fasted (30-45 min) 5x a week. Would I lose any muscle during that period of the fasted state? I always make sure I eat 100-200 cals over my maintenance so I don’t lose muscle and I weight train 6x a week and get adequate protein intake. I’m just curious during...

Does Skiing work chest/push muscles?

Skiing is definitely a leg workout, back too for stabilization (lats are sore). But I'm wondering if I should be hitting the gym for a few sets of bench / flies, bc my chest doesn't seem sore at all. Am I going too light on my leg press and pendulum squat?

Those are the 2 main leg movements of my leg day. I do 4 sets of 15-20 for each. I wanna train them very hard and very close to failure. Around rep 13 it starts getting really hard and I even shout a little around the last 4 reps (sorry to my fellow gym colleagues, but I really suffer lol). ...

Barbell rows before leg day?

So I’m thinking about going back to heavy barbell rows for a while, after previously focusing on chest supported rows and seated cable rows. You can only pick one exercise per muscle group...

Once again the workout and exercise forums are kinda dead, so let’s see what exercises y’all would pick if you had to choose 1 lower, 1 upper pull and 1 upper push. Mine would be a trap bar deadlift, hammer chest press and a seated cable row.

Stability ball leg curls suck

In the best of ways. I can leg curl 200 lbs for reps but 20 total reps in 3 sets of SBLCs absolutely trashed the back of my legs and left my magnificent glutes fried. If anyone wants a secondary posterior exercise to do and hasn’t tried these yet, give them a go.

Yoga/Stretching Suggestions

Hey all, Finally going to get into a relatively structured yoga/stretching routine. Starting to feel some odd twinges in my lower back that I'm not a fan of, and stretching always makes them ease up a bit so I figured I'd continue with that. Anyone got some good stretching routines that they...

Question Weak hands/Fingers

Hello, new to these forums so I’m not sure where to post this; I thought this place would be OK. My question is, what can I do to strengthen my hands/fingers? When doing exercises such as the lat pulldown, deadlifts, shrugs (mainly pull exercises), my fingers/hands are why I have to stop. A few...
