Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

I have muscle imbalance and s****osis. Right now, I am physiotherapy and working on the problem. Problem is that my lower-back hurts and gets a lot of pressure every time I do deadlifts or any exercise that I have to do standing. So, I was told not to do anything that hurts my back for the time...

Deadlift machine

Dumbbell Only Back Training

I don't have access to a proper gym, but I do have a decent adjustable bench, as well as two adjustable dumbbells (70lbs each max setting). I'm having a little trouble deciding which exercises to include in my back training, as lack of pull up bar and cables is annoying. I've generally been...

Alternating dumbbell curls bad?

Is alternating the hands as I curl bad? I can get 35lbs for hand doing the alternating curls, but when I do BB curls for the same reps I can only get 65-70lbs on the bar. Is this odd or can I get more with the DB because it's alternating?

Should I switch flat bench to incline?

I'm on fierce 5 but it doesn't specify whether flap bench or incline, I have been doing flat since I started(3 weeks ago). I heard that incline increases flat bench but since I barely started I don't know If I should just keep doing as the program instructs. Thanks in advance.

Having too flexible hamstrings for squats?

So my hamstrings are seriously loose/flexible. If I really pushed it, I can almost put my elbows on the floor by stretching down with straight legs. I can easily do ATG squats ALL the way down. I don't do that though, I try to not go lower than a little below pararell. At the "bottom" of the...

Pain in the back of the head, squats.

I was doing high rep squats today (12 rep) and after I finished my first set and put the weight on the rack, I got an extremely intense pain in the back of my head. Weighted Planks - Pressure on back and shoulders

For the last couple weeks I've done planks with a 25 plate on my back and a 25 and 5 plate on my back for 3 sets of 60s apiece. These hit my core muscles pretty hard and have been a pretty good workout. Only thing is that it really puts a pressure on my back where the weights sit and my back and...

So, for a while now I've ignored the issue but since I'll be going in the military soon, I figured I should try to understand it before I'm told to do 80 push-ups only for my arm to explode. This problem occurs mostly when I'm doing push-ups, I believe because of the angle, but it can also...
