Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Asymmetry in glutes

I posted progress pics today and I’ve always known that my left glute is significantly flatter than my right but today is the day that I’m deciding to do something about it. I know everyone has asymmetry but this is not sitting well with me and I’ve never made an effort to change this until now. ...

Going heavy and tennis elbow

Time for 1 exercise out of many in a routine

So I always see routines that have 6-8, 9 even 10 different exercises for 3 sets each. I am trying to figure out if I am doing something wrong because for me to do 5 sets of 5 reps on bench takes me 30 minutes including setting up/warming up. So how do I finish my routine without being in the gym...

Question What muscle weakness(es) makes it so your feet hurt from walking a lot?

If you're relatively light, you can walk/run for miles. But if you're fat, you won't be able to go more than a mile before your arches start hurting. I'm guessing that's because your arches are supporting more weight than they can handle. But I notice this is only with "fat" people. A fit/lean...

Maintaining balance in your stretching routine for injury prevention.

When stretching, don't forget to maintain balance between antagonist muscle groups. As an example, if you stretch your hamstrings, it's smart to follow that with a stretch for your quads. These are antagonist muscle groups (one bends the knee and one straightens the knee). A second example...

Don't Squat for Hamstrings

Cool 100 reps of 75% max

What are the benefits of doing 75% of 1 rep max weight for 100 reps? Ex: I do 225 bench press for 100 total reps. However, reps are from 1-5 pyramid style until I reach 100. I do squats as well. I may include deadlift soon.
