Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

My bench sucks

I'm the rare person who mostly trained legs. I got into lifting through college football. With so many people in the training facility at the same time, I was told to train legs, back, and core first and get to bench last if I had time. Usually the linemen had priority on bench. Needless to say, I...

Question Why do I suck at squatting?

Hi erryone, I've been doing the SS program for quite a long time. My progression has been great on all the lifts, but I have a love-hate relationship with the squat. I was progressing nicely on squats until I reached a severe plateau at 260lbs. I reset 2 times, but still can't get past this...

at the bottom position, do you keep the arms at a relaxed position, or do you lock the elbows before lifting the weight up? I've watched a video where a coach advises to put tension on the triceps to lock the elbows at the bottom, because he says this way you stretch the biceps more so it gets...

Squat form

I’m 22 and trying to improve my squat form. Every time I low bar back squat, the bar starts to become lop sided once I squat. One side of the bar goes a little up. I have the bar on my upper trapezius muscle. Any advice on how I could fix this? Thanks!

I did front squats today and noticed after recording myself that when I use a clean grip with two fingers, my elbows will stay up, but I lean forward like I would doing a high bar squat.
