Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

What do you love about this man? I saw an interesting interview of Dorian Yates wherein he talked about how the world would be a better place without steroids. Do you agree? The video is available here:

Post Leg Press

Today I just hit a PR on the Leg Press of 560! But I’m confused... I’m 155lbs at 12%BF. Not complaining but why is my leg press so strong while my upper body movements such as my flat bench is only 135x8? I always do full range of motion on all my exercises. Is this just genetics?

Hey guys, I think I've improved my squat form somewhat since last time I posted a check, but I was hoping for more advice/critiquing. BnN6NdEUF6I The major things I noticed are: 1. Depth is somewhat questionable on a few of the reps. It seems like I may have been right there or maybe half...

Bent over barbell rows

I know that using too much momentum and rocking back and forth defeats the purpose of the lift, but is a little bit acceptable? I have a hard time not letting my torso get pulled down by the bar on the eccentric (but only by 1-2 inches), so I kind of have to rock back in place. None of it is...

Bench press fix and lower max?

After reading the stickie and fixing my form I feel a lot better about preventing both shoulder injury and muscle growth. My max dropped about 15 pounds with the better form. 260 to about 245. Will the weight drop on bench effect muscle loss on cut because of the drop in intensity?
