Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

How important are hammer curls?

are they really a big deal or can u simply stick with dumbbell curls to make decent bicep gains as well as the upper part of the forearm?or is it best to inc hammer curls into your arm training day as much as u can?

Going for the pump vs lifting heavy?

Got a lecture from one of the bigger guys and I've noticed that Kali Muscle has said this as well. They it's better to go for the bump if you're going for size. Is this true? I always thought if you lifted super heavy, you'r muscle fibres would tear more? Maybe it depends on the muscle you're...

Dumb question about bicep/tricep balance

My usual weight for bicep curls is around 70lbs for 3x10, and for skullcrushers is 60lbs for 3x10. Since triceps are over 2/3rds of the mass in my arms, does this mean I have an imbalance (as in biceps are more developed then tri's)? Or do these two exercises often yield arbitrary weights to each...

Exclamation Active Recovery Question

I created a similar thread couple of weeks ago, but I created another one as I've changed my active recovery 'workout' routine. So I was wondering if it's okay to lift some light weights (a pair of 5kg dumbbells to be specific.) in home on rest days to get some muscle pump. I would do some...

Is 70 degree incline for bench press too much?

I have some issues with bench positioning inside a rack. If I set a bench at 45 degree, I can't properly unrack the bar, since my shoulders are in the same vertical as J-hooks. Only thing I can do is set a bench at 75 degree and put something under the front part of bench to make a degree slightly...

Arnold press vs overhead press

Hi Friends, It's said that regular overhead press (whether bb or db) hits front delts more than side delts, whereas arnold press hits both front and side delts. Is this really true? I have sensitive wrists and do not want to mess it up further by performing this movement unless the benefits...

Are push ups overrated?
