Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

How many reps of 225 can you bench?

It looks like the last thread asking this is over ten years old. Since this is one classic measure of strength endurance (such as the NFL uses), it would be interesting to put down a time stamp for the forum as we begin the new decade. For me, it's 12. How many can you all do?

What is your bench (1RM) to weight ratio?

For example mine is: 1.333... My bench/my weight = 220lbs/165lbs => 1.333 Please drop yours. I wanna know because a lot of people can bench 275, but you find out that they weigh 250. So I want to know where I actually stand.

Any issues with sticking to Hammer Strength Chest press for a while?

I run PPL and I decided to try out the HS for chit's and giggles. I felt my chest targeted very well from this exercise. Question Is there something wrong with the straight arm dumbbell row? No one talks about it.

LaaVZ7u0x2Y As far as hypertrophy, I hear isolation exercises are better than compound exercises. So if I want to hit the lats, why do pull-ups when I can maybe do a dumbbell row? But surely I can isolate the lats even further by taking the elbow flexion out of the equation, like in this...

I do not understand running

I’m currently a soldier deployed overseas. I loved working out before I left and it’s fortunate I’m here because they have somewhat operational gyms. Will 10% bench press hit only upper pecks ?

Many told me to avoid focusing on the flat bench press because it kinda builds a chest that's not so favourable for a man. If I raise the bench to 10% will it focus both the upper and middle pecks or will it take the middle peck completely out of the equation ?

Will doing bench press with dumbbells only reduce my chest gains?

Had to switch gyms cuz the one near my house went bankrupt. The new gym has a bench press with the worst position to rack the barbell back. Basically if i stretch my arms, it's exactly aligned with the part that you have to rack it on. So i can't put the barbell back, unless i move/sit...
