Sticky Thread Sticky: The Bench Form Thread

We see a lot of threads asking for bench form critiques on this forum. I feel like most of these threads are made because people don’t know how to critique their own form. They just don’t know what to look for. I’m hoping to narrow that gap with this thread. I’m not going to touch on everything,...

Shoulder fatigue-weak shoulders

I am getting back into lifting and know my shoulders are weak...well I am weak all over, but mostly my shoulders. I am easing into it and a few says ago I was doing side lying down external rotation and did 3 sets of 10 with a 2.5 kilo weight. My shoulders felt fatigued quite quickly and after...

Knee pain. Cossack or goblet squat caused it?

Hi, Last Saturday I did a combination of Cossack squat and elevated heel goblet squats. Later on during the day felt pain/soreness in the area around the knee. I am not sure which of the two caused this. However I know I usually have issues with sumo squats so was thinking perhaps the cossack...

Shoulder press/development question (injury related)

Bit of background. Lifting for 15 years, I've always had shoulder issues, usually due to going too heavy on the OHP. I've asked people to check my form which is always good. I think it's mainly due to a connective tissue disorder I recently found out I have but nothing can be done about that. Heavy...

Probably a stupid question but has there any one that have done this? What were your outcome? In my gym, most of the strongest benchers are dudes I see who do their sets on flat and the chest machines almost every single day. I do Lyle Mcdonald's GBR (upper/lower) and on my off days I just do...

Overhead DB Pressing

How much stimulus do you think overhead dumbell pressing has on mid and rear delts? Thinking of trying german volume training at some point and using DB overhead presses as my shoulder movement. But does that lack stimulus for side and rear delts?

Does hex-bar deadlift hit the whole lower body?

I've been neglecting lower body in my home workout during COVID times and have the space for one piece of equipment. If my only lower-body exercise is the hex-bar deadlift, would that be enough to hit everything? Seems to me that it hits quads, hams, glutes, calves, lower back to some degree....

Most fatiguing compound lifts

Out of the following compound lifts, which do you find the most fatiguing? You can answer this based on set-to-set fatigue, time to recover (set to set and workout to workout) or any combination of these. Back Squat Bench Press Barbell Row Deadlift Chin Up/Pull Up OHP For me it's:

Squat form - breaking parallel/ alleviating buttwink

I'd like to get some pointers of my squat. If I could without my lower back rounding I would go ATG to get full ROM. best exercises/variations to emphasize quads?

I rarely feel a good pump or...

Shin burn during Ham Curl

Added in some leg extensions and ham curls. Liking the hamstring and glute activation but also getting some burning in the shins, pulling pretty hard. This normal and ok? Using pretty light weight, only a 35lb. plate and going slow and strict.

How can I do these types of sit-ups at home?

I never the area toned below my belly-button because I feel like I haven't found the right exercise. Leg lifts don't do anything for me. Lightbulb Just learned that I can squat normally

Over the two years I've been squatting, I've always had a plank under my heels due to squat flexibility/balance issues.
