F5 weights too low on 1 lift

Hey yall. Im curious what to do about my RDL in F5. Monday the first set was way too easy, so I added 5lbs. 2nd set was easy. Final set I was doing so well that I made it to 10 reps before I realized I went over. I could have done 15 total. Should I add 5 or 10 on friday? Then 10 more next...

Poll Poll: Calves...how often?

Hi, I am currently working on calves every other day. The thing is, when I run on the treadmill every day I can tell they get worked and pumped as well... Do I need to rest them more, or should I keep working them every other day? I just use the leg press machine and sometimes the smith...

Question Can I make the OHP work the middle delts more?

Hi! I use close grip for OHP, it feels more stronger this way. But to be honest, I do OHP in the hopes of getting bigger shoulders from them. Some say it's good for that, others say it doesn't, I DON'T WANT to talk about that here. My question is, that if I use a wider grip, it would make...

Talking Form Checks (trap bar dead, squats, stiff legged deadlift) After 2 Week Gym Break

I just came back working out from a 2 week break from the gym. Unfortunately I strained a muscle in my neck (according to doc) I thought it was a pinched nerve but he thought it was just more of a muscle strain. I’m starting to progress in my weightlifting journey to semi-heavy weights (at least...

need help with physical limitation

With the help of this community, I started reading Starting Strength. I was so convinced by Mark Rippetoe's case for the low bar back squat that I expedited my acquisition of a Rogue SML-2 squat stand. I went with that model since I can later convert it to a RML-390F full rack with strap safeties...

personal anatomy & (decline) bench press

Everyone seems to have a different strong opinion on flat bench vs decline bench. Some studies say decline activates chest overall the most, not only the lower fibres. Sure, both are usefull and its always good to mix it up, but there is a huge controversy which one is the nr1 chest builder. ...

Problem with the barbell row

So I have a problem with the barbell row. Once I add more weight (usually 5 pounds per progression) after completed desired reps with good form, I find very hard to maintain that form- my back goes upward, cannot keep it as horizontal as possible. This happened a few times, even after a deload. I...

Reps range vs total volume

So I just realized that I messed up my squat routine, doing 5x3 instead of 3x5. Although the total volume is the same, I'm wondering if the different reps range actually matters or not. For example, last workout I had to grind the 3rd rep every set so I'm pretty sure that I would not have been able...

Weighted push-ups as a replacement for bench press

For work reasons, I will be unable to go to the gym over the next couple of weeks. Are weighted push-ups (chucking a few discs into a backpack) a one-for-one replacement for bench press? E.g. if I weigh 80 kg and usually lift 80 kg in the bench press, can I do push-ups with my own body-weight +...

If I can do 10-11 reps of 115 lbs benchpress

Hi, I am a skinny fat asian guy and I've been lifting about one and half years now. Right now, I am 5' 6'' and like 140 lbs. I can do about 10-11 reps of 115 lbs benchpress. Theoretically, how many reps of 125 lbs or 135 lbs benchpress should I be able to do? Last time, I did 1 set...

Should I deload?

So, I have a scheduled deload coming this week. I haven't had a deload week since the beginning of November/late October. My lifts have not decreased, naturally. What I mean is my major lifts have gone down about 5 pounds, but I am just getting completely done, about 7 weeks removed from a cycle. I...
