First workout day during mandatory "social distancing"

Gym closed. Backpack loaded with water bottles, 21 lbs. Wife: 150 lbs Wife's dumbbells: 24 lbs each (max). Legs Squats: Put on backpack, lift wife across arms, 3 sets of 10. Surprisingly tiring. Split squats: Put on backpack, pick up dumbbells, elevate rear foot, 3 sets of 15 each leg.

Poll Poll: EZ bar vs Straight bar : Overall use and bent over rows

Hello everyone With the recent coronavirus pandemia and with gyms closing, I've wiped off the dust of my mini home gym that I have and I've been thinking about getting a straight bar, however, I don't see much purpose on buying it. My goal with this mini home gym is to be portable since I...

I have pain in my shoulder during bicep curls and when doing chest butterflies. I stopped working out upper body for about 3 weeks, but the pain is still there most of the time when I tried the bicep curls again and butterflies. Does anyone know the cause of this? Could it be bicep tendonitis? ...

Row variants

Wondering what kind of rows everyone here prefers? I started out with Fierce 5 Novice (6 months), doing Pendlay rows. Moved onto the Eric Helms Novice Bodybuilding routine (5 months) where I did dumbbell rows. I liked the dumbbell rows a lot more because they didn't fatigue my lower back like...

More fun workouts with no gym

Chest and shoulders today. No gym, no problem. Did the following, plus some other pushup variations, one arm push ups, lateral raises and tricep overhead extensions. Kind of nice to do some bodyweight stuff again, even though I've gotten waaaay worse at it due to too much lifting! LkKRgow2gNo ...

This is a hard time that we're living and I hope you guys and your loved ones stay well and healthy until this horrible pandemic passes. I have a pull-up bar and a couple of 5kg dumbbells (I normally use the 25-30kg ones at the gym depending on the exercise). What exercises would you guys...

What exercises to do with a kettlebell that is to heavy for you (32kg)

Are there any exercise to do with it? Like maybe a kind of deadlift or squat? Since the gym is closed because of the corona, the gym gave out free kettlebell to the members to use while its closed, and it was only the heaviest left... are there any good exercises to do with it?

Can I do seated incline presses sat on the floor with my back against this bench? Only change from the normal exercise is that my knees would be raised up, that shouldn't have any impact.. right? At that angle there looks to be too much of a gap, but it should be okay at higher inclines. I'm...

Question Bicep curls and shoulder raises you do with only light weight?

Progressive overload with these exercises seems like every month or two add as much as the smallest your weight goes. You can lift more by just working stabiliser muscles I think like doing back and shoulder press core some sht like that legs... What do you guys do with exercises like this?

hamstrings curls

how far should you contract with lying ham curls? am fortunate enough to have a buddy lend me a Bowflex for the gym closings, and they have ham curls and leg ext built in. the ham curl stops at the contracted point when the legs are about 90 degrees, same with ext. How many reps of 225 can you bench?

It looks like the last thread asking this is over ten years old. Since this is one classic measure of strength endurance (such as the NFL uses), it would be interesting to put down a time stamp for the forum as we begin the new decade. For me, it's 12. How many can you all do?

Cheap alternatives to gym during Coronavirus pandemic?

The gyms around me shut down during the Coronavirus pandemic for at least 2-3 weeks, but I still want to workout. Thing is my workouts are with heavier weight ( eg.: bench press with 210-240 lbs barbell/dumbells, DLs 350 - 400 lbs , RDLs 315 lbs etc) so suitable weights/dumbbells are too...

Pushups, chin ups, and BW split squats daily?

Any problems in doing this assuming I am working with just my body weight for all of the exercises? My gym is closed for the next month or so and I’m hoping to preserve as much strength as possible. I’m only benching/rowing a little over one plate so I don’t carry much upper body mass, but I am...
