Hello, i have a question. I train 4x per week fullbody training, compound movements only. It means, i train my triceps by dips, biceps by pull-ups, side-delts for example by bumbell raises etc. It goes well, but i know its not optimal for some muscles, and im trying to build muscle, so i have a...

HS Decline Press - Not strapped in

Just started using this machine, but the seat belt that straps you in is broken. Feels a bit awkward and I sometimes use my feet to stop floating out of the seat. How necessary is using the seatbelt? Any tips on doing without it? Done up to 270 lbs so far.

Walking 15k-20k steps everyday - will it kills gains?

Hello, I've heard that too much cardio can affect gains, but my job/lifestyle requires me to walk 15k-20k steps every day. I have been working out for about a year now, and only recently decided to start taking it seriously. Would walking 15 thousand to 20 thousand steps every day potentially...

Stiff legged deadlift help

Am I suppose to feel this exercise in my hamstrings? I only feel it in my back and glutes. It's a vital lift in a beginner routine im doing(All Pros) so I don't think I can substitute it. I had same issue when doing hamstring curls on the machines at the gym. I felt it in my quads on that. ...

Form / Weight in compound exercises - Dead Lift

So, there are tons of videos and information about proper form online but none of them address the question I have specifically. To preface this post's content, I used to lift in High School before I went into the Marines. During this time I only trained Bench Press, Squat, Curls, Pull Ups and...

Anyone here have any experience in doing full body workouts in consecutive days?

My gym reopened after a few months of being closed and I transitioned to doing full-body workouts to ease myself into weightlifting again. I do enjoy full-body routines compared to splits however I do miss being in the gym several times a week. Is there any issue in training on consecutive days if...

Leg crippling pain after squats

Hello fellow bodybuilders. I have been struggling with this issue for some years now and I think it is time to ask for help. Stats: 33year old male, have been working out for about 5-6 years, 1.75m, 70kg. I started with back squats about 3-4 years back but started (as usual) with bad form,...

What is your bench (1RM) to weight ratio?

For example mine is: 1.333... My bench/my weight = 220lbs/165lbs => 1.333 Please drop yours. I wanna know because a lot of people can bench 275, but you find out that they weigh 250. So I want to know where I actually stand.

Goblet squats at home (with triceps bar)...

Hi all, I'm struggling with leg exercises at home (very limited setup), and I've considered doing goblets. Spin-lock DB can only hold 30 kg (about 65 lbs), so I'd do them with a hollow (yikes!!!) triceps bar that should be good for up to 60 kg (probably a bit more but seems too risky...). I have...

Incline Db 15 30 45 degree drop sets

How is this for a bit of a fun change-up Hitting Incline Dumbell Press with a drop set at 15, 30 then 45 degrees? NB I’m aware 45 is going to hit the delts. FWIW I will follow up with floor flyes, HS Decline Press and maybe Dumbell Pullover.

Skullcrushers + Overhead tricep ext = too much for the long head?

I do both of them, twice a week, in my push day. 3 sets of 8-10 reps each. Each set is very close to failure (max 1 rep left in the tank, if even that). I have 1 year lifting experience, natty of course.

Problem with dumb bell pull overs

I've got adjustable dumb bells. When I've got 10 pound plates on the dumb bell, they keep on hitting the back of my head. So I have to load up the dumb bell bar with a whole bunch of 5 pound plates. It's somewhat inconvenient because I'm doing a FB workout and do 3 different exercises in a...

Thick obliques/wide waist

I do alot of heavy squatting and deadlifting and I BELIEVE a result of this has given me a wide waist ruining my v taper. I have a 6pack so I don't believe losing bodyfat would impact it too much. Right not my waist measures 36 inches. Is there any way to remedy this with exercises?...

Why deadlift always 1x5 instead of 3x5 ?

Hi so i noticed that most popular fullbody programs have just 1x5 of deadlifts but i'm running a similar A B structured program where im squatting 3x5 on a and 3x5 deadlifts on B. So basically im squatting 1-2 per week and 1-2 deadlifting with heavy static sets, Is this bad ?

Question How do you guys save your lower back?

I love doing the big lifts (deads, squats, OHP, barbell rows etc) but my back is constantly fatigued. If you guys aren’t on a full body 3x/wk - so you’re lifting on back-to-back days on U/L, PPL, bro split etc - how do you manage lower back fatigue? Do you just do machines all the time? Srs. If...

Balancing out Shoulders, Traps & Chest with Bodyweight

Hello, I've started doing some basic calisthenics again recently after about a year off of the gym. Mainly just jumping jacks, sit ups and push ups. I'm trying to ease my body back into working out as this is the longest break I've taken in years. One thing that has always been an issue is...

Sets, reps and progression. please help

Hi i'm new to lifting and was wondering if I should lift a weight until i get fully tired for each set? e.g. set 1 = 10 reps, set 2 = 8 reps, set 3 = 6 reps. or should I aim for the same number in all sets, e.g. set 1 = 10 reps, set 2 = 10 reps, set 3 = attempt to do 10 reps but fail at 6 or...

The voodoo of single-arm static holds

I've been burning out at the end of my upper and pull days with static holds with adjustable DBs, adding plates incrementally when I reach a specific duration for a few sets. The twist: I load up a backpack with a bunch of non-adjustable DBs, sometimes adding weight to that instead. The backpack...
