Having trouble doing Rdl’s

Calf raise machine marks

Whenever I use the calf-machine, I get use red marks on my shoulders (where the pads with the weight sit). Are there any alternatives for calf raises that won't get me these markings all over my shoulder? It looks like somebody played 10 games of tic-tac-toe on each of my shoulders
