I have a PT at my gym that is shredded to the bone and he claims there are exercises/variations to target different points of a muscle, most commonly showing exercises which makes the line between muscle separation more noticeable e.g.separation between shoulder and triceps/biceps. Is this true?

Low back pain

When I do squats I get a strong burn in my low back. It feels like it's going across the top edge of my pelvis on the right side. It goes away between sets. Any exercise or warm up to fix this? What muscle would that be?
